This classic country pub, located just a stone’s throw from the Tukituki River, serves as a haven for weary travelers and hungry fishermen alike. The moment you step inside, the welcoming atmosphere surrounds you, with trophy trout adorning the walls to inspire dreams of the big catch or a pool table to distract you from the ones that got away. The drinks selection is solid, and the outdoor area invites you to relax on sunny days. But let’s talk about the food. We indulged in two pineapple burgers, each topped with a perfectly fried egg, and a mountain of nachos that defied tradition yet delivered on flavor. We were so enamored that we had to order a second round. Whether you’re passing through the region or simply need a break from the road, this place is worth your time. Good food, a great setting, and a slice of genuine Kiwi hospitality await.

   Great country pub. Chilled in the outside area on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Met friends and had delicious big meals, ice cold drinks and good chat. Even got a couple of Patangata Tavern stickers for the Ute seen as were from Northland. Highly recommend!

   The great thing about New Zealand is you can still come across some good ol fashioned country hospitality and the Patangata Hotel does this oh so well. Very welcoming Publican, and the atmosphere straight away makes you feel welcome and appreciated. Being full time nomads we were able to park over in the lot beside the pub. We had a great meal, couple of drinks and enjoyed the friendly hospitality. Well worth a quick visit from Waipawa.

   Delightful country pub, serving great meals. Homely atmosphere, wood fire, lounge chairs beside the fire. Walls covered with sporting memorabilia. Great all round atmosphere even for bus loads. Lovely courtyard seating, with fire pit. And umbrellas. Awesome friendly little country pub.

   Went for lunch at the tavern, and i will highly recommend it! Remotely located, this place has its charm. The welcoming and friendly owners offered us delicious meals with generous portions. Unfortunately i didn't take pictures of the atmosphere inside, but the all place is convivial and cozy, ornamented with antique, vintage and family-oriented decorations. Appraised by locals, it's definitely worth the stop.
