If you are a visitor and affiliated with another club this is a busy but relaxing place to have a few quiets. Darts, snooker, pool if it takes your fancy. Thursday night is the popular night to go with $2 raffles running. I won a lovely lamb roast , good value and money goes to the club fund. A range of drinks on tap and a good variety of wine and top shelf to choose from. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking at the door. Very enjoyable.

I am a member at this embarrassing poor excuse for a club! The Terrible bar staff have know idea and need to go visit an RSL Club in Australia to see how it’s down! Service 3rd rate at best and shocking initiatives poorly orchestrated from top to bottom! obviously this is my pseudo name but there seriously needs a change of guard at this place. The Melbourne cup event last years was total fossil feast. How on earth are you meant to be able to attract new members and generate a vibrant club atmosphere in what can only be described best location in Hawke’s Bay steeped with an great historical past! The foundering members would be horrified. It smells like an old persons home and the place less lively than a funeral home! It’s all so wrong and needs to get commercially savy with maximising its asset. If I was president I would get a property developer ( Not Macksery ) develop a decent set of Retirement / Accommodation / Apartments / Function / Confrence Rooms / Sports Club Facilities by Inviting The Bowling / Rugby / Bridge / Cricket Clubs / It’s got great access and could be fantastic.
What a beautiful club and staff. Arrived on club night which is a Thursday, the place was really busy. There are two carparks upper and lower. If you want quite highly recommend sitting in the restaurant for your meal. Restaurant open Thursday to Sat from 5.30pm. The food was 10 out of 10, I tried the new menu. Staff or a member can sign you in. Worth the stop.
