Immaculately clean and tidy. Rick and the team were extremely kind and helpful. Having the botanic gardens right next door was a real treat to walk through in the mornings. And watching the wood pigeons right outside our window. I can't recommend this place highly enough!!!
Clean and tidy. Close to one way so had a wee bit of street noise. Great location close Logan Park for tournament. Rick the owner was very helpful and friendly.
Reception help was so good. I had a very sick husband in hospital and I was looked after so caring and thoughtful. Stayed there a second time. Rooms is clean and big they put the heater on for me before I arrived. You will not make a mistake to choose this motel. Recommend!
I really appreciated the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the owners. I booked a single studio room which was very clean and well appointed, and perfectly met my needs. I really appreciated being on the second floor facing towards the Botanic Gardens and away from the road - it was lovely to awake to the sound of bird song each morning. This motel is also ideally located just down the road from the University of Otago and walking distance to town.
They were absolutely amazing! We had a large group and they were incredible to all of us. I would 100% stay at the Commodore if I were to come back to Dunedin. Rooms were super clean, spacious, and lots of amenities. Incredibly happy. Super close to downtown, the botanical gardens, and the grocery store. I felt super safe here at the hotel as well.
We showed up at the last minute & were greeted warmly. The friendly & efficient lady (Vicky?) put us in a lovely room at the back away from street noise. The amenities were excellent & the bed was great for my wife's sore back due to driving many hours. Would happily stay here again & recommend to anyone for a comfortable & convenient stay right beside the gorgeous botanical gardens!
Stayed here with family earlier this year during the Easter holidays. We had made the booking for our stay through their website. Check-in was very quick as the usual check-in formalities were done online a day before our arrival. Our rooms were comfortable on the ground floor and had everything necessary for a pleasant stay. I was able to park my vehicle right outside my room. The host was friendly and catered to our requests. Would stay here again.

After a 48hr flight from the UK, this was the perfect place to spend a few days. Great location, lovely rooms and excellent staff. Great parking outside the room. I am also very happy that my mobility disability was recognised and I was given a ground floor apartment
