We stayed 1 night our our weekend trip to Dunedin. Lovely hotel - very helpful staff on reception, comfortable and spacious rooms, everything you could need really. They also let us check in a little early which was wonderful after a 5hr bus from Queenstown!! Would recommend.

We travelled down to Dunedin for a wedding, not realising that our trip was at the same time as the uni graduation was going on, so many hotels were full of students and their families. However, our stay was totally undisturbed, peaceful and quiet. The room was very comfortable, clean, and had a lovely view of the harbour. The location is excellent, right in the middle of Dunedin and within easy walking distance of great restaurants and the lovely architecture of the city. A big thanks to Sheila who showed us great kindness and care which made our stay even better!

We had an amazing time at the Scenic Hotel. Location was perfect- close to the Octagon and everything we needed. The room was very spacious and clean. Finally to top it all off, Shiela made our stay absolutely perfect. She was kind, polite and went above and beyond her call of duty. Highly recommend staying here if you are in Dunedin!

Enjoyed very much our stay at this friendly hotel. The chef was amazing to prepare us vegan dinner and a hearty breakfast during our stay. The salad dressing at dinner was lovely. Definitely would love to come back again! Will see you again, Chef!

AMAZING! Firstly before I review the rooms etc, I want to acknowledge and give a big thanks to Yuri, Jordan and Sheila. I booked three rooms which had 3-4 people in each and if you’re the one organising your group trip the pressure does get hot. These three made this whole process easy for me. From organising three rooms and three car parks to their service when we stayed over the weekend just past for my baby brothers graduation. You guys are AWESOME!!! Again thank you so much. Now for the rooms, I’d given it a four. The beds are AMAZING! My family absolutely loved how comfortable they were. And the space in the rooms were also very spacious. The Smart tv and the chrome cast saved us from being on our phones rather doing karaoke. We were on the 7th floor with amazing harbour views and peace quiet. Room service for anything we needed was wonderful. We didn’t order food there however other requests we asked for came really quick. I’ve rated it a four as the shower could do with an upgrade. It works fine, but an even a little upgrade would be nice for it. Also a microwave in the room would be great. That’s all other than that EXCELLENT !!! From a very pleased and grateful guest. Location also in the city was great. We had a car so we drove everywhere. But it was convenient for us as it was 2 min walk from the Town Hall.

This was a very difficult place to navigate if you have a car. I had to drive around for ages, park on a yellow line to get my luggage out of the car. It's OK if you book parking in advance, as there are not many parks in the tiny garage. Something was very noisy as I was trying to go to sleep (maybe the fridge) and it was not as clean as I would have liked. I wonder if they are not fully staffed, as the corridors needed vacuuming for the 3 days I was there. But absolutely fine as somewhere to stay while working, especially if you don't have a car, but still OK if you ensure to book parking in advance.

This was by far the worst place I stayed at in Dunedin. I have stayed at many different motels and hotels, usually in the $250 bracket. This one was considerably more expensive, close to $400; they hiked the prices because all the new students with their families arrived in town. Nice one. When we got there at 3 pm our room was not ready. we were offered nothing, no cup of tea, not anything, just told to come back in half an hour. In half an hour the room still was not ready. Then we were given another room. It was filthy, dusty, hair on the carpet, we wondered if it was a room waiting for renovation, but not done yet!? Double charged for parking (which was a joke as well, as the card did not work) I have rung and spoken to the manager and told them my concerns. still no apology or anything. Never ever will go back to that dump.

A very nice place to stay. Pros: The room was comfortable, spacious, and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The TVs are all set up to cast to (I took my own Chromecast and didn't need it in the end). A very comfortable bed. Easy walk to find food. Cons: Bathroom is a little dated.

I stayed here for a work trip and was a bit disappointed being it's a 4.5 star hotel. The buffet breakfast is excellent, comfy bed and great shower. But the room was very cold (had to run the heating all night), the room was very bland, tired looking and lacked personality. There was a long black hair in the shower and a silverfish from a blanket. Very few options for in room hot drinks, snacks, milk wasn't replaced. Refurbishing the rooms would make a huge difference, not worth over $200 per night.
