Love this walk, unfortunately there were a bunch of drunk idiots when I went so it wasn't as pleasant walking back, if your not a fan of being moaned at and chased by teenage boys and teenage girls screaming their heads off, all while blasting awful music, try to avoid after 4:30pm on a hot day
Easily accessible by car, with a short walk to river. 4wd access to water. Shallow pools good for kids. Lovely spot for a picnic or to take the dogs for a swim. NB signs indicate you should check before swimming as they may let water through from upstream. **River floods and becomes inaccessible after heavy rain.
A good walk (3h return) with ups and downs following the Taieri river. Can be slippery, as the terrain is patched with rocks.

This is a good walking track and also a perfect place for family walk with kids and dogs. You get to see amazing lake/river. It took us almost 3 hours to finish the walk (with return). Generally, it's a hard track as it's mostly flat but there parts that are steep. I will definitely recommend this.
A pleasant spot to take the family and the water quality at the river was good. Toilets definitely in need of an upgrade however and general amenities seemed lacking. Huge potential here.
Perfect zen place for a little family trip on a week day. Only a scattering of others around. Was magical. Swimming. Fishing. Bush walk. Sun. Rain. Sun. Heaven
