This is parking lot with designated areas for freedom camping. The facilities are super good, clean toilet, cold shower, a sink, dumpstation and a drinking water tap. All you need as a camper. The distance to the beach is 50m and it’s great to relaxe there. After 5pm is might be full as there are only 11 places.
Great place for dog walks on the beach. Plenty of parking. Public toilet available in the freedom camping end of the carpark. Easy, short walk to a beautiful sands beach. Be aware that sea-lions may be about in the season.
My wife our daughter and her family have stayed in a holiday home there for the past two years and plan to do so next year. We love the beach. Lovely sand, great for children and dogs to play. We saw many dogs and horses up and down the beach. There are cliffs at the southern end where houses have a wonderful sea view. As we walked down that way we saw that there were " islands" there. Soft smooth sand and fantastic rocks to explore. The rock formations are splended, well worth the visit. The chilren and pet dog loved climbing over the rocks and cliffs.
Beautiful place. If you are here only for an afternoon or you have a SC vehicle it is a good spot. It is just few metres from the beach, there are picnic tables to use, serviced toilets, outdoor shower, dump station and running watter as well as a sink for washing up (cold water only though). There are 10 spots for the camping in ur car and they do fill up in quick after 3 pm. Beautiful sunrise. Good for dipping in the sea but beware of currents.

Pics when sort some its a great place with the right people sharing the area gets busy in weekend with locals going on the beach, toilets drinking water a few big grass areas and picnic table great beach walk when tide is out left to blackhead right towards Brighton also great with tide in depending on direction' great location @ sunrise & sunset on a warm night with no wind away from artificial light the stars are amazing and the beach will not have traffic like day time yet timing is crucial really especially walking dogs' sea lions seals and more then brighton beach before an amazing costal road to drive and view to tairei mouth and a senic route through a magestic forest with a stop at the bottom right few kz before waihola which now is locked at night for vechiles
Lovely day for a walk along the beach, sand was a little soft today, the water cooled feet after the hot sand. Great stroll.
Good facilities, easy access to beach, also has freedom camping facilities. Carpark needs some minor work as there are pot holes and puddles but not a major issue.
