    I do not recommend to purchase their products online. I had to chase up for delivery after waiting for 3 weeks. They confirmed they had all the products, but on arrival they substituted 3 items. I was promised replacements, I was told to give it to a food bank (to which I did), but they have never arrived and now they are not answering my emails. I visited their shop and was informed to contact another person. If you do not want to spend time chasing and being disappointed, do not purchase from Gourmet Direct.

    Absolutely worst online butcher service I've ever used. Ordered well in advance of planned event. Was informed day of agreed delivery that the meat was twice the size as advertised and therefore twice the price. Needed my approval to still deliver. That's fine, quickly responded to please still send the meat asap. No response until the following day, asking again if I wanted delivery. I responded that they left me to scramble for alternative holiday plans but to still please send the meat as I had already done prepping for its delivery. Customer service (can we call it that?) again did not respond to the quick responses I provided, then were closed for 3 days without satisfying my order. They finally got back to me letting me know they were cancelling my order altogether. Nice service they provide. Maybe they are better at in-person service, but are ill-equipped to offer online delivery services, offer poor customer service, and not very responsive. Not sure I understand their business model, but I'm happy to take my business to another butcher.

    Live in Auckland and always order beef mince, lamb racks and rib eye from Gourmet direct. Love the service from Lynne and the team. Thanks for the quality meats you provided today ( just received my order, see pic ) my family loves it. God Bless.

    Have made an order 3 times now. Each time there was an issue (incorrect items, incorrect amount charged, ect). Customer service was able to sort it out. This last one I can’t be bothered contacting and sorting again. So much effort for just basic orders. We have one voucher left that we used Airpoints to purchase and then will not use this company again.

    Very disappointed. Poor customer service and there is no communication regarding how invoicing and payment works when speaking and dealing with their customer services team. Would not recommend as there are much better services like this one out there. Shop around!

    For the second time we have been over charged for an order. We have been charged three times for one order! $300 for a $100 order! We tolerated the order cancellations and changes to our orders as it was a reflection of staff absence etc but to be charged three times for one order has caused difficulties!

    I have used Gourmet Direct 4 times over the 6 years. I am not a "caterer or restaurateur" just someone who likes quality meat and an easy life :) I use them when I want a bulk order of different meats for an upcoming event such as Christmas or a Party. I like that I can go online and am presented with a huge range of options of different meats, different sizes and different quality options. Website is very user friendly I find their prices are very comparable when you consider they are fresh and of high quality and when I factor in that I DID not have to drive around multiple butchers or retailers to source what I wanted. Due to the perishable nature of the products, before I place my order, I call them to discuss delivery so we can agree what best suits me. They are based near Napier but don't let that deter you as I live in Auckland.... Their operating hours are such that they are readily available and have sound logistic delivery processes in place. Orders are always delivered on the day we agreed and the product is packed suitably, arriving cool and in good condition. As for the meat quality..?? superb. Will continue to use their service ongoing..

    Poor service. Waited more than a week to receive a product. Had to contact them three times. On two occasions order did not arrive on time it was promised. We waited entire day at home waiting for both days. When the order finally arrived it was not the product we ordered. We ordered a provenance lamb but received a different lamb. When we called they stated that it was out of stock. No apologies at all, just thinking we would accept any product as an alternative is absolutely poor. Should they have informed us prior, we would have ordered it when the stock was available.

    I recently purchased some Silver Fern meat from Gourmet Meats but unfortunately, due to a monumental "stuff up" by NZ Couriers, by the time the meat was ready to be delivered to my address, it was already 6 days old. Gourmet Meats instructed NZ Couriers to return the pack and have arranged for a new pack to be delivered to me. Their Head Office and Napier Staff were superb and given that Silver Fern is a superior meat product, I would heartily recommend them to any on line buyer. WELL DONE TEAM!
