   I found the service at Smith City really great, really friendly and very efficient. We recently had our dishwasher give up on us and we needed a replacement asap. The staff got it, and had new one in from Auckland really quick and at the most competitive price in town. Thanks

   Seriously bad customer service…. Went in to buy a dryer from the Dunedin branch and was served by Angela…… She blatantly told us that the price was a special for the floor stock ONLY….even though you can go online and get a new wrapped one for the same price. I pointed that out and then she made out she had never said for floor stock…..which was an outright lie. This annoyed me so we left , mainly to cool down instead of an argument. We went back in 20mins later to buy a dryer be it one that needed ordered in and was met by Gordon. When Angela came over I said I didn’t want to deal with her which obviously offended her, so her and Gordon decided they would try and convince me that they are brilliant and that it’s all my fault as a customer, I must be making it up cause Angela is great etc….. So I let them have their point of view and left without purchasing a $1299 dryer. Smiths must be doing well to turn a customer that just wanted a dryer away. I have spent over $13000 there since they moved into this site…..but obviously that’s not enough to go in and not be harassed by the staff Good luck to you Smiths, you won’t be getting anymore of my money

   Parents purchased a dryer in June. After weeks of asking when this would be delivered was told end of August. Middle of winter waiting for a dryer.Poor communication...lead times blown out. Not recommended

   A lack of orientation cues for customers when you walk in. Signage could be better as to categories of items for sale & service desk should be easier to find & identify.

   We brought multiple items from Smiths including a fridge which had to be delivered - it was damaged at some point prior to arrival but Mikey and Anna were really helpful in organizing a replacement. We'd never purchased from Smiths before (been in for a browse a couple of times) and I was a little wary we would get screwed around but the service was very good (in-store and afterwards) and the communications were prompt and professional. If I was dealing with Mikey or Anna I wouldn't have any hesitations about buying from Smiths again.

   I started the journey of finding a bed at the South Dunedin store which is now closed. Abby was so good at listening for what we wanted and then explained the benefits of the different beds. We went to the new store after it had only been open a few days. The new shop in the Meridian Mall is so big and has great potential for the future as they settle in. We bought our bed and they have ordered it in and will store it, until the redecorating of bedroom is done.
