   The blonde waitress was so rude with us last night, she needs to learn customer service skills. From banging on someone's shoulder while they were talking just to get their empty plate, to asking us what we got at the till when all our meals were ordered under our names. She was so impatient and rude. And some of us got the wrong steak meal even though once again they had our names but didn't use them when delivering our meals. To be honest the food isn't the greatest we have had 3 bad experiences now. Why do we keep coming back you ask, it's because other people organize the night out and we just turn up as part of a group, wouldn't go there otherwise.

   The Duke of Gloucester in Napier is a fantastic spot for a classic pub experience with a touch of charm! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or family. The menu features hearty, traditional pub fare that is sure to satisfy. The beer selection is excellent, with a variety of local and international brews on tap. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. If you're looking for a great pub with a warm and inviting atmosphere, The Duke of Gloucester is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend it!

   Really friendly service. Plenty to choose from on the menu, snitzel was really nice, chips were good too. Bbq beef burger was pretty average, no salad or anything in it and a thin slice of cheese with pale bacon, but the Pattie was so tasty. Pizza was nice but for $20 I expected a bit more cheese and a nicer base. First drink they gave me was soda water and not lemonade, was gross. But the lovely staff member corrected it right away. Over all I’d go back here for a bit of pub grub, not bad.

   We stopped in for lunch on Monday on arriving in Hawkes Bay for a brief holiday. The staff were very helpful in sorting out food that would meet my dietary requirements offering me gluten free options for gravy and cheese sauce to go with a large and delicious portion of roast beef with vegetables. I can definitely recommend them as a lovely place to eat especially if you have dietary needs.

   Went with a group and all enjoyed very much. Meal delicious. I had fish and chips. I do enjoy good fish and this was super. White moist and very tasty. Ch ips were done just right and nice side salad. Serve good we didn't have to wait long which is a good plus..

   We loved this cute little pub. If you are on the road and looking for a meal you can’t go past it. Indoor and outdoor seating and choice of pub menu or bar menu. Super friendly staff and quick service from the kitchen. We had the ham and pineapple pizza - delicious

   This is the 2nd time we have eaten here. The food is excellent and plenty of it. My only constructive comment would be to request salad dressing on the side, my Dressing was very spicy, probably chilli, which I don't normally eat. They happily put leftovers in a take home container. We had Sharese as our waitress and she was just excellent.

   Good range on the menu and all tasty, followed by a good drop. Only gripe I had was I asked for a medium rare steak and got well done, not ideal for spending $40 on this dish alone. I would go back though, the atmosphere is good.
