Excellent food - starters and mains, fresh and tasty. Dipping sauces were especially delicious - tasted very authentic. Service was v friendly and polite. Sat out in the new outdoor area which was nice, only thing missing was some music. Highly recommend, thanks
My daughter and I we're excited about going to try a new Thai restaurant tonight we went here and ordered three dishes. The larb was delicious, the pad thai was good, and the tom yum was disappointing. It didn't taste like any that we've had before and was quite flavourless. We asked the waitress if we've been given the right soup. The manager came to explain and said that this is the way they make their tom yum, with coconut milk. I explained to her that we had had that variation before but this just didn't have the same flavour that we would expect of a tom yum. We didn't eat any of it, but were still charged for the whole amount, which I paid. I have never challenged a bill before, and appreciate that there are lots of people working hard behind the scenes- but just left feeling very disappointed after being so eager for a lovely night out. I will note that the waitresses were lovely and did their best.
I haven't actually eaten here but I can vouch for the professional nature of management. I stupidly ordered by mistake from Thai Lotus believing they were a in fact Lotus Thai in Taupo. Upon contacting Thai Lotus the owner was extremely accommodating and we agreed to refund 50% of my mistake. They probably didn't have to do this, so very impressed they were so reasonable. Deserve more business for being good humans.
Disgusting, I got a tom yum soup which cost my 27.5 all up with ordering online. Worst soup I’ve ever tasted in my life. Nearly double of what I pay from my local in Hastings. Over priced soup with no flavour, will never return and will also tell others to steer clear, especially with no offer of refund
First time visit to this restaurant. Upon entering we were greeted as if we were family, smiling and friendly staff who really seemed to want to be there. Once seated drinks were provided and our orders were taken. The food arrived promptly and looked amazing, it tasted even better, none of us could fault the quality of the food, it would be one of the tastiest meals I have had in recent times. Overall a great meal accompanied with great service. Well done to a great team.
My mum knows the owner, so every time we come in she is very smiley and happy to see us. The food is divine, the waitresses are nice and polite. Oreo cheescake is my favourite dessert.
Order from here a few times but so hit and miss, I order something different to see if it’s just the dish I’ve ordered. I’m not sure if it’s the takeaway food they just don’t give a **** about or what but ordered a massaman curry tonight and you can tell from the photos this isn’t a massaman curry. Takeaways aren’t exactly cheap either so please Thai lotus don’t charge the earth if you’re not going to deliver.
We got takeaway from here with mains Pad Khi Mao Medium and Mussaman Curry mild. The potatoes in the Mussamun we're uncooked, the colour very yellow and nothing like Mussamun I've had from multiple other places around NZ. Also the Pad Khi was too spicy to eat. When I phoned the store to let them know that same night they said they'd pass it on to the chef, but the Pad Khi is a spicy dish by itself so medium just adds more chilli. Have double checked their online menu and it doesn't specify how hot the dish is. Very disappointed as we were willing to try it again after a not so great experience years ago, as someone who dined in rated the food highly. It would have been good for them to acknowledge the disappointing food by providing good customer service.
Loved this point perfectly placed in Napier. Lovely owner running this business bought just before Covid. Great service and i enjoyed having the Penang curry with Pork , Pad Thai and one dish of chicken. Thank you so much will visit again from Melbourne.
