FOH staff treated us like we were a chore and a Hassle. Judgemental faces and not that friendly. I’m ex hospitality, my eldest is also and the staff were unpleasant. It’s not hard to be friendly to your paying customers. We spent $160 there. That’s 6 hours of my wages to be looked at like we were an inconvenience. The plastic dishes are awful for adults meal that costs $26 and we weren’t even finished eating our mains and were getting our plates cleared. That’s impolite and rude. My daughter started eating her fries rapidly like she needed to hurry. All in all. Would never go back.

Great Family friendly place to go out for dinner. Food is great, priced really well and generous portions. Play area for kids and the staff are friendly and welcoming.

The staff were friendly and very helpful but there was one who stood out and treated my family a bit poorly. Felt like we were being judged by him. So glad the lovey girl took over and served us. She mad us feel welcomed. Food portions are not what we expected but it is a decently sized meal. Ribs are delicious, steak cooked perfectly! Creamy mushrooms need a bit of work. Chips are delish, salad is small but also yum. Love there fish and chips meal that's good!. Love that they have a space for children to play while they wait for their meals. Overall was a good night out for dinner.

The food was prompt. Cheesy garlic bread was good. The pasta could of been better. The fries were really good. Felt like they rushed to get our food out. Our long Island cocktails were overpowered by triple sec and coke. Quite a disappointing experience considering the quietness and we were the only customers at the time

The food was great, staff were friendly. I really love how there’s an area for the kids to play. Just a couple things I think they need - when ordering you should get a number, there’s been a few mix ups when we’ve been. Also menus need to be laminated, won’t deteriorate. Maybe even do a digital version where you can scan a QR code. Other than that a decent family restaurant!

We all have been to a breakers I guess? staff was not exactly friendly and they started to put chairs upside down on the tables while we finished our food, I guess the message was "hurry up". food mostly fried or deep fried. Many older kiwis seem to like breakers, but I struggle to understand what they like?

Haven't been to breakers in a long time. Last time I went was when I was a kid and did a coloring competition, which I later won a Drift Bike from . Lucky me. Just for that I give 5 stars. Also the staff are very nice and welcoming. My mum knows someone who works there and she always greets us with a wide smile. I quite like the chips, burger and donut sundae. Very yummy, place is always clean and has a very nice beach or surfer theme.

I recently dined at Breakers Taradale and overall, my experience was a mixed bag. The standout part of my meal was undoubtedly the steak - it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Complemented by a generous portion of well-seasoned chips, the main course was definitely a hit. However, I must say that the service was just okay. While the servers were friendly, they seemed a bit unorganized and inattentive at times. It took quite a while for our order to be taken, and even longer for the food to arrive. Although the staff did their best to rectify any issues, the overall service was not up to par. One aspect that was a letdown was the atmosphere of the restaurant. The interior decor seemed outdated and lackluster, providing a rather uninviting ambiance. The lighting was too dim, giving the place a gloomy feel, and the noise level was quite high, making it difficult to have a conversation without raising our voices. Despite the drawbacks of the service and atmosphere, I must emphasize that the quality of the food made up for these shortcomings. The delicious steak and perfectly cooked chips certainly left a positive impression, and for that reason alone, I would consider returning. In conclusion, Breakers Taradale offered a mixed dining experience. While the food, particularly the steak and chips, was exceptional, the service was lackluster and the atmosphere left much to be desired. If you prioritize a great culinary experience over ambiance and service, this restaurant might still be worth a visit.

Firstly, the meal was pretty good. The meat patty on my BBC Burger was very filling. The bacon was cooked perfectly and the chips were nice and salty. The building was very small and gave off fish and chip store vibes. My associate claims that the ribs were allright. Nothing special. Good music. The food came fast and my coke was a little flat. Overall good place for a lovely dinner with the whanu.
