   Myself and my work colleagues thoroughly enjoyed an amazing lunch at this pub. The food was super amazing, the service was top notch, staff were very kind and helpful. We adored the atmosphere and look forward to returning. There were 16 of us and no complaints from any of us.... thank you Puketapu for an amazing experience and a beautiful day :-) see you again

   This is our 3rd time and The Puketapu never disappoints! The food quality is excellent and the staff is courteous and accommodating. Tonight my wife had the Puketapu Burger and I had the Chicken Parmigiana, and no surprise they were both wonderful. Always a great portion of food and the prices are great! It’s just a short drive from Hastings and Napier and definitely worth it.

   Great little place to enjoy lunch. The mussels were delicious as were the crispy chicken tacos. We ate in the bar section which had a large TV, table and comfy chairs plus bar leaners and stools. The service was prompt and staff friendly. Caters for large groups.

   We had an amazing night recently to bid farewell to a couple of well-loved locals - what a night!! The food was amazing, best shrimp cocktail, lamb shanks & creme brulee I've ever had, and I've been on the planet quite a while!!! Lovely atmosphere, love what they have done after Gabrielle, and the staff were lovely!!! Will now be our go-to place when we want something special and / or have guests to entertain. Brilliant!!!

   I took my girl (Brooke Parsonson) to this place and she had the worst time, I could tell. When the disrespectful waiter asked her how her food was, she had no choice but to spit in his face. She took two bites of her Jerk Spiced Chicken Thighs (GFA) and exclaimed "Now I know why they call it the 'Jerk Spiced'! Because this chef is trying to jerk me around!" Naturally we were outraged and in a hapless attempt of the classic 'plant a hair in the soup trick' we were politely asked to leave the restaurant. In fact, the service was so bad she was even forced to yell insults at full volume to all those present in the tavern. Atmosphere was nice.

   Awesome menu and cosy, relaxed vibe. Tried both vege mains, a lasagna and an eggplant curry served with brown rice. The lasagna was super tasty with impressive layers! Highly recommend a side of chips to dip into the curry. Definitely worth stopping in.
