The food is great also the atmosphere to it I highly recommend the salt and pepper Calamari Large I really loved it. But in overall it's great I would like to recommend to my friends.
Visiting Hawkes Bay and stumbled across this 'family friendly' diner, which wasn't quite what we thought we were after, but OMG... Insanely quick, delicious food, and the boozy slushies were cheap and delicious. Best pork belly I've eaten. Bring your partner, your friends, or your family here for a meal! We sat outside on a 26 degree Friday evening for dinner and had the greatest quickest experience.
I came here for the Wednesday $19 meals. The portions were great and the taste excellent. The lamb shank had rich gravy over it. The batter on the fish was light and crisp. The steak was done to a perfect medium rare. The only downside was I wished the apple and rhubarb crumble had more rhubarb, but it was delicious.
We have come for my grandsons birthday for many years on the 22nd August the food was good but the service was terrible our waitress couldn't care less about us. We were a table of 10 waited ages for drinks and to top it off brought out birthday cake before table was cleared from main meal. She clearly needs more training on how to look after and liase with customers. Certainly not up to your normal standard Shanis. Very disappointed.
We booked a table and arrived and we’re taken upstairs. I can only guess this is the kids area. The poor waiting staff had to contend with a group of noisy and badly behaved children. Perhaps this is why our starter never appeared. Avoid this place before 8pm when the kids (hopefully) go home. Food that did arrive was pleasant enough (but the fries were dreadful). May five it another try later in the evening.
My partner won a meal combo ( burgers, ribs,chips, salad and a drink)on Facebook. Everything was delicious! So thank you to the team at Shani's.
The value for money is well worth it. The food tasted beautiful, especially their ribs. Will definitely come back again.
