An absolute gem of a restaurant. Their brunch is delicious, but the real star is their Ethiopian cuisine. Whether you’re a carnivore or a vegan, spice lover or not, you’re in for a feast. The meats are boldly seasoned and always perfectly cooked. The kik alicha (lentils), shiro (chickpeas), and mushroom tibs are the perfect complements to a meaty main, but can just as easily shine as satisfying mains on their own. For the adventurous, try the kitfo (beef) raw β€” it has a flavour and texture unlike anything else I’ve tasted. Paired with their house-made cheese (to balance the spice) and fresh injera β€” a spongy, sourdough flatbread perfect for scooping up every bite β€” it’s an unforgettable culinary adventure. The only catch: dinner is served Thursday to Saturday, and you’ll need to call a day ahead to book. They spend an entire day preparing their sauces, and it shows in every bite

Genuine and authentic Ethiopian food in a warm and friendly restaurant (with a cool antique vibe). This is our third visit and we enjoyed the tibs, gored-gored plus the special doro wot. You have to book for the Ethiopian as it’s all hand made over the day…and totally worth it.

Lovely cafe with rustic seating and lots of plants. Great atmosphere to catch up with friends and family. We had the Avo Smash and Eggs Bene with Bacon. Great portion sizes and well made. Also had a berry smoothie which was nice.

What a wonderful space - I never realised how well the cafΓ© has been decorated, with lots of bits and pieces around the place. I had mince on toast with a couple of fried eggs - totally delicious, with just the right amount of heat added to make it interesting. Coffee also really good.

We went for a late lunch today (5/7/2025) What a fabulous cafe. The staff were incredible, the food was amazing. It has the most amazing decor, a real walk down memory lane. Thoroughly recommend a visit. We will definitely be booking in again. Thank you also for my birthday cake & song, it was so lovely

Great spot for catch up, located in city centre but away from hustle and bustle, very cozy! The cafe is nicely decorated with Art Deco touch. Sitting here you can relax don’t need to rush finishing your coffee and food. Food portion is surprisingly large and beautifully presented. Highly recommended!

Lovely place to spend an afternoon with friends. Service is very good. Food is tasty too. The best thing is coffee as other cafes may not be able to make large coffee as good as regular size coffee, but Lemon Tree can.

Popped in with my son this morning with the intention of coffee and maybe a slice from the cabinet but ended up ordering from the menu and am I glad we did. My chicken and waffle was quite honestly the best thing I've ever ordered! So so tasty! The berry Pancakes looked spectacular too and our hot drinks were great. The vibe of the place is awesome. Definitely highly recommend, we will be back soon!!
