   After the earthquake, this is our first time returning to Two Fat Indians, and the experience genuinely exceeded our expectations. Despite everything that has happened, the quality of the food is still exceptional — rich, aromatic, and bursting with authentic Indian flavours. The team welcomed us warmly, and the service was attentive, fast, and incredibly friendly. It’s wonderful to see this restaurant back in action and thriving. We’re very happy to support them again, and we highly recommend Two Fat Indians to anyone looking for delicious food and great hospitality. Keep it up

   Me and my girlfriends came here for a high tea and it was amazing! We especially loved our chai rounds! Food was tasty and alot of varities, explained well in advance what we are having. The service is exceptional and Nasik is a very friendly face of the business providing a great customer service :) We will be back!

   We booked high tea through First Table, but unfortunately, it was far from the experience we expected. It felt like the venue didn’t understand what high tea culture is about. The place was closed for the owner’s child’s birthday, yet they still accepted bookings—likely to make some extra money. As a result, the atmosphere was chaotic, more like a busy fast-food restaurant, with people constantly moving around. Having experienced high tea at places like The George, I expected some level of service and attention to detail. However, the staff here didn’t explain any of the teas or the food served on the tray. Their attitude came across as if they were doing us a favor by fitting us in. To be fair, the food was tasty. If you're just looking for a casual lunch with high tea-style food, it might be okay. But if you're hoping for a true high tea experience—where the staff explain the teas, describe the food, and create a relaxing atmosphere to have a good time with your mates —this is not the place.

   Two fat Indians is a nice restaurant in the heart of Christchurch city. The good thing is that it had authentic desi taste and not sweety taste in dishes we tried. We had Chicken Malayi tikka that was awesome (although quantity is small for price). The lamb shank Nihari was also very good (a bit salty but tasty) and meat was tender. Seating place is good and service is also good. Recommend if you love desi food and taste.

   We went for high tea. The food was an amazing; sandwich, Indian nibbles, dipping sauces, even 3 types of cake. The masala tea was beautifully spiced and my husband would give his left arm to eat the sandwiches every day.

   Perfect recipe for an awesome evening… professional welcoming service… ambience to take the days stress away and so clean… and the food just melted in your mouth. Shout out to Frenchie as we had no booking but we were lured in by the smell… they were fully booked which I can see why but had a small window to fit us in…..making us feel welcome. Thank you ❤️ Highly Recommend
