Kendal Fish and Chips is an underrated gem that deserves far more recognition than it currently receives, especially for its outstanding burgers and top-quality chips. While many people associate fish and chip shops solely with battered fish, Kendal Fish and Chips goes beyond expectations by delivering one of the most satisfying and generously sized burgers available. From the first bite, it becomes clear that this is not an ordinary takeaway meal, but a carefully prepared and deeply enjoyable experience. The Kendal burger stands out primarily because of its impressive size. It is undeniably big, filling, and well worth the money. Unlike burgers that prioritise appearance over substance, this burger delivers genuine satisfaction. The thick, juicy patty is cooked to perfection, offering a rich flavour that does not rely on excessive sauces or gimmicks. Each bite feels hearty and comforting, making it ideal for anyone with a serious appetite. The bun complements the patty well, holding everything together without becoming soggy, which is often a problem in takeaway burgers. The balance between texture and flavour is handled expertly. What makes the Kendal burger truly special is how underrated it is. Many people overlook fish and chip shops when searching for a great burger, assuming that specialised burger restaurants are the only option. Kendal Fish and Chips proves this assumption wrong. The burger competes easily with well-known chains and, in many cases, surpasses them. It has a homemade quality that makes it feel authentic rather than mass-produced. This sense of care and effort elevates the burger from something ordinary to something memorable and genuinely yum. Equally impressive are the chips, which are undoubtedly top quality. Perfect chips are essential to any great takeaway meal, and Kendal Fish and Chips delivers them consistently. They are thick-cut, golden, and cooked just right, with a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. Each chip is satisfying on its own, yet they pair exceptionally well with the burger. The portion sizes are generous, ensuring that customers never feel short-changed. The seasoning is subtle but effective, allowing the natural potato flavour to shine. The overall experience of eating at Kendal Fish and Chips is one of comfort and satisfaction. The food feels familiar yet elevated, offering classic flavours done properly. There is a clear focus on quality rather than cutting corners, which is increasingly rare in fast food today. Both the burgers and chips reflect a commitment to providing filling, delicious meals that leave a lasting impression. In conclusion, Kendal Fish and Chips deserves far more praise for its burgers and chips. The Kendal burger is big, delicious, and seriously underrated, while the chips are consistently top quality. Together, they create a meal that is comforting, filling, and thoroughly enjoyable. For anyone willing to look beyond expectations, Kendal Fish and Chips offers one of the best takeaway experiences around.

Chips were old fried in dirty oil. I wanted to support my local chip shop and I try this place every few years to see if any improvements are made but this place always disappoints. The chips are all ok, but there’s no way to tell if you’re about to eat a rotten chip by scent or sight until you bite into it, it has this old tea towel scent that’s revolting. I ended up throwing my one portion out again.

Sorry, would really like to support my local but the fish has been cut so thin you really are only eating batter. Meat patties are some kind of concoction of God knows what but not meat! So disappointing.

I very rarely post negative reviews but this is the worst fish and chips I have had in quite some time. Charged $9.50 for one piece of blue cod that had been sliced so thin and covered in a thick doughy batter it was barely recognisable as blue cod and in my opinion it wasn’t actually blue cod at all. When I raised the quality of the fish and the cost / value with the owners I received a very defensive and unconvincing response. I definitely will not be back and would recommend steering clear of this shop and in particular the blue cod…..in my opinion a very expensive, thin, and low quality piece of fish masquerading as blue cod. Very expensive and very poor quality.

The best fish and chip shop in town! I don’t know the owner’s names but they are always so incredibly friendly whenever you call up and make an order to pick up. Best service ever! I always feel so welcome. Love the hand cut chips and the option to also choose shoestrings! Curry rice rolls are my go-to. The food is always cooked so well and never excessively oily or greasy!
