   River Riders was a five-star concierge experience: 11 out of 10, will do it again on our next trip. We started with their Hamilton Gardens hub, and we were able to reserve everything in advance over WhatsApp. We chatted with two different staff who covered everything, including a parking-lot test ride to adjust the bikes to our sizes. Their eBike controls are easy to grasp and (after the first mile or 20 minutes) totally intuitive. They even talked us through their “Great Rides” app so that we could track our progress (and stay on the Te Awa trail).

   We actually had a really bad experience with the bikes. The trail itself was lovely but the bikes had alot of issues. We rented three bikes (two ebikes and one normal) and the one of the ebike was perfect no issues. The other ebike would constantly turn off by itself and we had to restart it more than 10 times in our 2 hour ride which was very unpleasant. The normal bike had very messed up gears that would keep changing or skipping gears even after 2-3 minutes switching up to a different gear. this would cause a frequent jerking motion which would keep happening even if you didn't change gears. It was alot worse than the cheap bikes we have at home. Edit: the owners called us to rectify the issue and was very helpful in following up and making sure we were taken care of. We are happy to come back again and would highly recommend this business.

   Booked online for a full day. Very good e-bikes (new and great quality) for the price. Anika was very helpful and gave us lots of suggestions. They delivered the e-bikes to Ngaruawahia, where we started our ride. We finished at Lake Karapiro and returned to Cambridge’s Victoria Square Park, where they picked up the bikes.

   Best service recovery experience. We booked 2 stepper bikes online and when we arrived, they were out of service. We were so disappointed as we wanted to try them out, but instead we were offered 2 x very nice e-bikes, valued at much more than we booked the stepper bikes for. The bikes were excellent quality, well maintained, and made our Te Awa River Ride a wonderful experience. They even let us drop the bikes off at the city shop, as it was closer to our hotel. Kia ora for making our short stay in Hamilton one to remember.

   Staff were really helpful. They made sure I was comfortable on my bike before embarking, made sure i knew the settings (i got the ebike and have never used one before), provided some amazing advice on the track to ngaruawahia, the bike itself was perfect for the afternoon ride. I would definitely recommend river riders to anyone stopping in hamilton on a nice day and want something to do for a few hours! The views along the river were also a highlight. Thanks alot team, I will be back when the Cambridge section is open

   Hired two ebikes for my parents today. Dan had everything set up in Ngaruawahia ready for us. He gave my parents some quick tuition on the bikes and we were soon making our way on the Te Awa river cycle path. The bikes were perfect for my parents, they were easy to use, step-through, well set up and provide plenty of adjustable assistance thanks to the electric motor. We covered some 20km and the battery was barely showing any signs of use. The range on these must be incredible! It was great to ride with my parents as without the e-assistance, they would have never joined me for such a ride. A great cycle ride was enjoyed by all. If you are considering this ride, do it. It's perfect for less experienced cyclists. If you are thinking if hiring an ebike, Dan from RiverRidersNZ is the man to see. You will not be disappointed. An easy 5 stars.
