If you happen to be staying at the excellent Novotel and thinking of a meal, DON'T GO HERE. A trendy, open kitchen that churns out plates of shockingly mediocre chicken and bland stir-fried veggies priced at $36 is a mistake you don't want to make. Staff wander aimlessly unsure of what to do and they're never there when you actually need them. A shame for such a venue with a great view.

First time here and it was a fantastic experience! The view is uniqueβ€”we loved looking over the Christchurch control tower and watching the airplanes flying in and out. The food was excellent: the fish was perfectly fresh and crispy, and the rest of the family loved the chicken burger, crispy chicken and garlic bread. Subina (the manager) and the staff provided lovely service. Parking: Park at the Long Stay and ask reception to validate your ticket for free parking after dining.

When you walk in the restaurant feel modern and spacious with the airport view. Chilli garlic fried chicken with jasmine rice - taste average. I think the sauce add some sweetness would be better l(like sweet chilli sauce). Caesar salad was nice but the prawns not much flavour. We come back for breakfast. There are lot of varieties. Hot dishes seem could not keep warm enough and it got cold on the plate when eating

Very nice dinner on our last night in new zealand. The pasta was made perfectly and the sun dried tomatoes were a nice touch. Staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great restaurant, service excellent but very disappointed in the Rib Eye steak and subsequently the chef sending the steak back to the table showing that inside the steak was medium rare by cutting the steak in half and returning it to the table by the server. Very poor and rude for a chef to do this. The server did offer to take it back again but by then we were annoyed. The outside ie the part you cut into was well done and the inside was medium rare. The restaurant manager was very apologetic on the chefs behalf. Maybe the food purchaser should consider changing their supplier as steaks should be even thickness so as to avoid one steak being cooked to different degrees of doneness. This is not our first trip and we were actually looking forward to having a steak again. Also red wine served in a white wine glass.

dining main dining hall was empty, but server introduced a seat by the table. Tried reaching out to multiple servers for drinks order, but they chose to ignore and walk along, despite us clearly waving our hands in front of them. Eventually, 1 kind guy took notice and addressed us for a moment to come back and address our concern. Overall poor hospitality, wouldnt recommend unless there isnt a choice. Not sure why the staff here is so grumpy and tired, its a novotel! For an international brand, the hospitality is super lacking

Tasty dinner main courses. Expensive, especially for wine. Our food was slow to arrive though the server did apologise for this. Fun to watch the activity on the runway from so high up.

The restaurant is located on the sixth floor of Novotel Christchurch Hotel, it is one of few fine dining restaurants in close vicinity of the airport. It’s location means one could get a nice panoramic view of the airport and the surroundings. The prices of the menu is one of the more expensive options here but it is not unreasonably pricey. I had the opportunity to dine here during a stay. However, I felt that it was average at best. The Tempura Goat Cheese with compote and honey is interesting but a little too heavy and rich (best to be shared with a few people) and lacks balance . . The main course of the Lamb Shoulder is not great: the meat was too dry at most parts and the mash was too starchy and lacks flavor. The sauce helps a bit but it doesn’t quite rise up be a good dish. Another detail is that a part of the restaurant is cordoned off which faces the airport and the mountains of Christchurch which I feel takes away the restaurant’s advantage of a great vantage point for dining. The service was good in general and the wine and beverage menu is quite diverse . The room service menu is also priced the same as the dine in menu which is a plus point.
