I have food allergies that can make it tricky eating out. The burger King at chch airport were very careful with my food and even remade it to avoid an allergen. Very helpful and patient. Vege whopper (with vegan aoli to keep me safe) very nice eating too. Thanks to guys BK chch airport Friday 14 11.25 midday crew

Very disappointed with my experience. I ordered a Cheesy Ring Salad Burger (Vegan), but the staff carelessly packed the wrong order and gave me a burger with bacon. I’m a vegetarian, and this was completely unacceptable. Didn’t expect such carelessness especially at an airport outlet where attention to detail should be standard.

Passing through Christchurch International Airport after a week exploring the South Island, I found myself with time to spare before my flight to Wellington and the inevitable hunger that follows a holiday. With limited choices airside, especially at a smaller hub like this, Burger King on Level One’s Food Court became the default option. The experience was precisely what you’d anticipate from an airport fast-food pivot: efficient, predictable, and faintly underwhelming. The Whopper I ordered mirrored the franchise’s promise of flame-grilled patties and locally sourced ingredients in theory, but reality fell short of the glossy menu board’s allure. The burger resembled an Instagram post filtered into oblivion, vaguely recognisable but lacking the depth and texture promised. While not actively bad (the patty was warm, the bun serviceable), it embodied "passable" in every sense, fuel, not flavour. Credit where due: the staff were friendly and moved with purpose despite the morning lull. Orders arrived swiftly, and the team handled the trickle of travellers with practised ease, a minor but appreciated grace note in the airport’s sterile rhythm. For travellers, context is everything. Christchurch Airport’s pre-security food court offers few exciting alternatives (a sushi counter, a smoothie bar, a café), making Burger King a pragmatic, if uninspired, choice when time and options dwindle. It delivers exactly what you expect: a quick, edible bite before a flight, nothing more. If you temper expectations, and remember this is airport sustenance, not culinary exploration, it serves its purpose. Just don’t expect the menu photography to match your tray.

Visited this morning for lunch. Not that bad. Yes they don’t cut Hawaii bk chicken in half, but the food was ok. Service was ok, of course it can be improved. Even though this franchise is independent owned and operated, BK still has quality standards which airport location has to meet?

Service is pretty good and fast, the onion ring didn't taste as good as other places for some reason. They also couldn't provide a free cup of water, not sure if this is a new chain-wide rule or they were being stingy (or maybe it was just McDonald's that did that)

This place is in line with where I feel NZ is at the moment. "Hey bro" being the standard greeting, no one looks like they care behind the counter and the quality of the food is as bad as it gets for fast food. The bar has become so low.

Despite advertising their plant based burgers in banners across the wall above the check out counter, there were none available.... after waiting in the long lunch time queue to be told by a less than enthusiastic wait person a rather insipid 'nope, we dont offer', i was yet again disappointed by BK....probably why I only try going once every 6months or so. Sure, stock runs out and staffing is a problem but at least take the advertising banner down when you can't supply.

The slowest service I've ever seen at a fast food joint, took over ten mins to get food and the girl packing the orders had absolutely no sense of urgency and was walking around talking, the burgers were made and sitting there for so long waiting for her to pack the orders so we're cold by the time I got them. thank god I wasn't running late for my flight
