Absolutely terrible service by Turners Tauranga. I purchased a vehicle back in May that had an obvious long standing fault which the branch my manager Anna Zandstra refused to pay to get fixed. The dealership also refused to put a new WOF on the vehicle, which by law they must do as a licensed motor vehicle dealership. Luckily the Anna Zandstra went on holiday after I told her I was going to the MVDT and I was able to deal with the area manager. He actually knew his obligations and was great to deal with. Just buy a car with caution from Tauranga as if there is an issue be prepared to purely up a fight. As I live in Christchurch I can say that all other non Tauranga Turners staff have been fantastic to deal with.

Very disappointed with customer service and the reasons given for a low offer for my vehicle sale appraisal. It seemed as though a strategy was used to criticise every little thing possible to justify an offer, at least $7k less than the cheapest listing I have seen anywhere. I understand that there is a business component and that I won’t be offered close to what I would get if selling privately, but after only a 15 minute look over and weak reasons for a low offer (car is immaculate), I left feeling as though Turners can’t be trusted. I did not mention this to the appraiser but dealers had offered me much more, so it’s very difficult to understand why they would appraise vehicles in this way, other than to increase their profit margins.

Their customer service is sadly disappointing, i would not spend my money here. What a weird company culture they have at the Mount Maunganui branch that allows staff to yell across to each other, publicly make rude comments about clients in the clients’ presence. Many others in the team heard but no-one offered any apology, the situation was very poorly handled. I was ready to purchase after the test-drive but the incident put me off completely. Please be careful whom you place near your business prospects.

While they do have a wide range of cars at affordable prices, the customer service was very disappointing. I was served by Jack S., who came across as condescending and rude. He seemed disinterested in helping and made the whole experience unpleasant. I strongly feel that the Tauranga staff would benefit from proper customer service training to improve how they interact with customers.

Sold us a car that was FULL of deep structure rust, had failed to put it on the report and tried to deny any responsibility. After pushing back they agreed to take it to a place of their choice to fix β€˜discount panel & paint’ we returned the car as we had no faith they would have fixed it properly. Spoke to multiple experts who said the car wouldn’t have lasted more than 1-2 years. I find it hard to believe you would have missed seeing all the rust, which tells me you happily sold the car knowing all the problems it came with. These photos aren’t even all the rust.

Great service. Les was fantastic to deal with. Ended up with a great car. Thanks again.

Great service from the on-site staff. But, expect to be fleeced with any trade-in vehicle and check anything you might buy with extreme care. Good cars can be found at Turners, but there's a lot of deeply questionable cars with dreadful service history too. Feels very corporate in the reeming you for every cent you've got kind of way.

Firstly, the sales people really seem like they don’t want to be there or sell cars. It was 4:45pm and asked if I could take a car I was interested in for a test drive. I was told by Elena that it was too late and too many cars in the way (1 car that needed moved). Another guy overheard and said it’d be fine and they do test drives till 5pm. Once I returned from the test drive I was not offered any info about the car. I had to ask everything. Decided to buy the car a couple of days later. 2 days after buying the car it starts shuddering, the engine light flashing and losing power. I decide to return the car and tell them about the mechanical issue. Within 2hrs of returning the car, it was back on their website for sale. Also, a week after returning the car I rung NZTA and the car was still registered to me. I had asked at the time of return if there was anything I needed to do to change the registration out of my name. They said they would do it. It all feels very dodgy. Do not buy NKU542 Ford Focus for sale!

Bought my daughters first car from turners Mount Maunganui. What a miserable experience. The sales guy had all the charisma of a wet bag of fish. He was weirdly dismissive and arrogant. An incredibly drawn out and lengthy process to negotiate because none of the sales guys can actually do anything so we had to leave for over an hour to wait for someone who can actually make decisions. Never ever had to do that in the nicer dealerships. Weird experience.
