Very good coffee, superb mince and cheese pie. Will have to come back and try their other pies :D. Also, a good range of GF options out of the cabinet. We were a small group, arrived as the team was closing down for the day, they still fit us in for takeaway orders, friendlt staff, great service. Highly recommend.
The staff here are lovely. I pop in now and then for breakfast and am always greeted with warmth and smiles. The food is top notch, always leave happy. Great work team. Love this little cafe.
Food was delicious service was great, came out within 15-20min on a busy morning. One of the better cafes for breakfast in Matamata
I especially go out of my way to go to EAT CAFE and have the Sea Food Chowder, my wife has the B.L.A.T. When I travel from Auckland to Tauranga I have to swing by and get the chowder. Real big chunks of seafood in it. I have had many a meal at Harbour Side And had their chowder. I really prefer EAT CAFE chowder. So that is high praise indeed.
Quite an assortment of à la mode options. The espresso is great, and there are also cold drinks available. Have been here several times this year.
First time experience at this busy cafe (Saturday lunchtime) with a very extensive menu & very good quality cabinet food. It is busy for a good reason as the creamy chicken cabinet pie was delicious with light pastry & the coffee has a beautiful flavour. However the service time requires some working on, this aspect being to slow when they are busy. Still highly recommend due to the extensive quality of food on offer & extra large coffee option. Revisited on a quiet Monday afternoon & can once again praise the quality of their own made pie's & sweet options which are superb. Steve Franklin Rotorua

Average food, average service. Need to update the glasses used for water, some of them are chipped & just need replacing. Nice handy location, main street of town. Cheers
Came here to get some breakfast. To eat I ordered the Chicken and Bacon melt out of the cabinet. This was delicious with a good portion of chicken and bacon inside. To drink I got a hot chocolate which was also good. Overall I would recommend coming here if you're in Matamata and want to get breakfast.
