   The Douglas fir trees have magnificent canopies that shelter smaller trees growing beneath them. The walk reminds me of the Heritage Forest Walk in Hanmer Springs—but it’s much closer to Christchurch, which is a bonus. The halfway loop takes about 30–40 minutes and is very pleasant, with charming fairy doors scattered throughout.

   This is the best walk ever for little ones! A cute little forest with a flat trail with many cute doors for kids to find! It kept my 18 month old motivated to run along and find the next door. We didn't do the whole loop but I think it's a 3ish km loop that can be done in an hour for most.

   Go and see the fairy Forrest, all ages can bike this track. Our less confident 5 yrold did this little track with us. If you go straight the whole way and come out near the train track, turn right and follow the other track back (it will be a wider walking track) and is fine to bike through.

   What a great place for a walk with the kids..I say walk..but the kids pretty much ran the whole time enjoying the made shelters and searching for the beautiful fairy doors. A lovely place for little minds and bodies:)

   What an incredible idea having a fairy door hunt. The full track of 50 mins went by without a complaint. The doors were so cute. We did get off track a few times so the walking track could have had some signs.
