   Warm, cosy, welcoming - my first impression of this cafe. We visited twice in our 4-day trip. Both times the place was PACKED, and the staff still managed to take orders, get food to us quickly, and make sure everything was OK. DELICIOUS food! My blueberry pancakes were fluffy, sweet and accompanied with compote, maple syrup and lemon curd. My partner reported her eggs Benedict (vegetarian) was rich, creamy and filling. On the second visit, I tried their namesake - the affogato and its easily my favourite thing on the menu. Being from Wellington I'm used to decent coffee, and Affogato easily matches some of my favourite local places. We can't wait to get back down to Christchurch to visit again.

   Had the eggs Benny with salmon, it was very tasty and the bread was great, really enjoyed it! My partner had the avocado smash and she was amazed to finally eat a good avocado smash in new Zealand that reminds us of our country, after a year of failures (sorry NZ we love you but your avocado game needs improving!). Staff were great and bonus points to them for being super nice and letting us take a small bit of some plants for our new home. Definitely will come back!

   Edit: 5 stars again! We came back again after a few months and didn’t disappoint us! Beef cheeks were delicious, tender and juicy, cooked perfectly. Service was as great as the first time as well. Delicious food, great coffee and nice staff! We went for lunch as it was close to our hostel and we were not left disappointed. I had the salmon smash which was delicious and one of the best meals I’ve had so far in New Zealand. The coffee and service were great too. I would totally recommend this cafe when visiting Christchurch!

   Cute cafe on the busy Fitzgerald Ave. The staff were extra friendly (and at 8am even!) and so efficient at what they do. Amazing team at Affogato! I had the blueberry pancakes which were amazing. Nice thick doughy American pancakes and the marscapone, lemon curd and Syrup balanced so nicely with the sweet and tart. Some of the best pancakes in Christchurch in my opinion! My friend had the Smoked Salmon Smash without the pesto (no issues with the modification whatsoever) and thoroughly enjoyed it. We will both be back again and again. Thanks Affogato Cafe for a wonderful experience!

   We stopped by this cafe for a much-needed cuppa after our flight as it was located 300m from our hotel. The cappuccino I ordered was excellent, the cafe was comfortable, and service was friendly. It was the perfect welcome to the city. I do wish we could have tried the food as well as it looks delicious too.
