I ordered the rib eye steak, I’m from Sydney for holidays here. Quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever eaten. I ordered the 400mg rib eye Absolutely crazy
Ordered a medium rare ribeye steak, was served well done. When I brought it back the cook argued with me, claiming it was medium. It was not. The steak was dry, chewy, and grey. Additionally, it took over 45 minutes for the steak to come out. Really bad service and unfortunately bad quality food. Don’t eat here, there are plenty of other restaurants in this plaza and any of them will be a better use of your time and money.
Chef Bunny at El Fogon Grill truly impressed us with his incredible skills! The lamb was cooked to absolute perfection—tender, flavorful, and easily the best I’ve ever had here. It was amazing to watch how focused and dedicated he was while preparing it. The dish was so delicious that we ended up ordering another one right after finishing the first! Thank you, Chef Bunny, for making our night so special with your outstanding cooking. Highly recommend!
We wanted to order two other meals but got told they were both ran out on a Thursday evening. Steaks were tasty but pretty expensive for a rump steak and a bit of chips (our meal didn't even come with salad.
This place is normally fantastic, but lately it hasn't been as good as usual. The steak I waited an hour for was well done all the way through, despite me requesting medium rare. I also had tough overcooked chicken here not long before. Victims of their own success perhaps, too busy to maintain the quality? I'll be having a long break from them.
The meat empanadas where good but they where wet because of the big quantity of oil. They had rice inside (strange but it wasn't bad). The Milanesa was very very small for the price. It doesn't worth it
The staff was friendly and funny. Food was amazing and with great value for money. Charcoal grilled sirloin was tender and juicy. Grilled chicken also great. Impossible to get such quality with this price from where we're from (Hong Kong), maybe needs 3 times the price.
Really nice food course in Christchurch. I would recommend to go there to eat something. If you like steak, el fogon Grill is the right address. Amazing steak and the price is also amazing. They told us when we ordered that it will take approx. 25 minutes and it was even less and the steak was on point. You can choose between different steak types, different sides and different souses. I can recommend you that restaurant.
Went on a Friday with a few others for dinner. The food was cooked to a level that all enjoyed and was very well portioned matching cost. Was not expecting all the other eateries in the same space and was a tad confusing at first. Overall, very good and would go again.
