The worst experience ever! We ordered a fridge from this store on 29th September for delivery 3 weeks later as we were moving into our new home. The salesperson βBernieβ took our order set the delivery as 22nd October stating the fridge will be coming from wellington. On 18th October I called the store to ask if the fridge had arrived to which they said not yet. On 21st I called again to check when they said due to some technical difficulties the fridge will arrive 1 week late. The only difficulty was that they never placed an order to the supplier but took 50% of deposit. As we needed the fridge by 22nd we asked for some solution to which Bernie offered either 1) the display model at same price (after fighting a lot said will give $100 gift card) 2) wait till whenever it comes 3) refund I was so disappointed as it was their mistake for not ordering but kept on blaming the supplier and had no remorse. I asked them if they could give a more discount than $100 as Noel Leeming was selling the same fridge with $250 gift card. They said they wouldnβt as they are already giving discount and werenβt even giving me a new fridge as it was the display. I even asked if they could send the new fridge with express delivery to which Mr Bernie said he would, but he didnβt, I had to call again and again and chase them to which he finally said the fridge will arrive in Tauranga on Thursday. CLEAR LIE. He even said his manager Tristan will give me a call next morning to confirm this. Tristan never called. I called again the next afternoon where the lady said they havenβt heard back from supplier for a mistake that they did and the fridge could arrive on Thursday or could take a week. Bernie clearly lied just to get out of the situation. On top of that, the manager doesnβt even want to talk. I asked several times if I could speak with him and he kept on avoiding. Donβt buy from this store. You could get the same deals or even better from the other competitors. The only good within this store is the dispatch team as they were the only ones who mentioned to me that the fridge hasnβt come to the store. If the person i talked to on 18th would have thoroughly checked that Bernie never placed an order I could have got my fridge 3 days late. But apparently they all are too old to work there and think entitled of themselves. I wish I could give this store a 0 rating but unfortunately thats not possible.

I mucked around getting a price match and then they tried to charge me $659 to deliver a fridge-freezer...that's $10.98/kilometre as I'm only 60km from their nearest branch. I tried to ask their customer service if this was right but like others have said they're useless. Ended up taking my $1000 to a better company that actually provided service (and they even threw in FREE delivery!). Go elsewhere and give your hard earned money to those that are actually helpful.

Appalling customer service as a result of an on-line order. Would not recommend purchasing through the website at all - you're much better to ring the store directly if you want to purchase. Got a complete run around with no-one seemingly able to take responsibility or be actually helpful. After waiting for more than 2 weeks with zero action, a phone call directly to the store elicited immediate response and next day delivery.

Busy day for them today with the king's birthday sale but we were very well looked after and had the timing of delivery explained well. Went in for an oven, came out with two pillows, oven coming next week.

Great staff with excellent customer service!! I found what I needed with some help from one of the staff members, and they made sure to give me all the information I might need before making the purchase. There are also great discounts always on. The shop is nice and clean with all the layout easy on the eye and making things look nice in a homely setting.

I have never bought anything before off Smiths City. We have just bought a chaise and recliner. 1st class friendly service from Amie and extremely quick delivery (less than a week). I have dealt with other large retailers before but Smiths City Tauranga beats them by a mile for price quality product and service. The delivery men were strong and very helpful.

I have bought a few things here and never have been this disappointed! We bought a Iphone 6 plus as new condition.. Paid for the more expensive phone as we thought that maybe we will get the better condition phone. Minutes after the purchase I realised my old address was still on my account. I immediately changed it and email them all the details they needed to have to change the address. They decided to ship the phone after the 3rd day of purchase to the wrong address!!!! Luckily I managed to re direct my purchase via NZ Post. We received it and it looks nice. No major scratches or anything. When my daughter open the sim card slot a vodafone sim card fell out. Then she tried to switch the phone on and it just switched off by it self and then continue to switch on and off by itself. Does not switch on fully at any time. Also the phone screen was a little lifted as if the battery was swollen. I emailed them about it and they send me a ticket to send the device back. I did that the same day I received it as it was worth nothing to us. It was delivered on the Monday and I followed up with them on the Wednesday hoping they would be able to tell me that they received the phone and the other phone was on it's way. No, they have no idea that my phone has arrived on the Monday already? Som they asked my to follow up in another 2-3 days... I received an email notifying my of the refund on the Friday with no other communication from them. This was not a refurbished phone nor did they even take the time to overlook the phone to make sure it was working.. Needless to say we are at Tuesday already and still no refund is showing so guessing this will take another few days before that is done. EXTREMELY SLOW with everything. The phone was bought on 3 March. Today is the 22nd of March and I am still waiting for the refund to buy another phone....Won't shop here anytime soon. :(
