   ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Service and Local Spirit, but Pricing Could Be Sharper Visited Heathcote Appliances Hamilton on Boxing Day 2025, and the experience left me with mixed but overall positive impressions. The first thing that stood out was how quiet the store was — surprisingly so for Boxing Day. With the current economic climate, it felt like there were more staff than customers, which is unusual for this time of year. That said, the staff were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and reflective of the warm hospitality you expect from people in Kirikiriroa. They greeted us promptly, offered help without being pushy, and made the visit feel relaxed. It’s clear the team takes pride in their service. Where things fell short for us was the pricing. The microwave we were interested in was the same price as other major retailers, so supporting local didn’t come with any savings. Another product we looked at had no discount at all, and we had to show Noel Leeming’s pricing before they matched it. Price‑matching is appreciated, but it would be great to see Heathcote lead with competitive pricing rather than rely on customers to bring comparisons. On the positive side, parking was excellent — plenty of space, easy access, and no stress, largely because the store wasn’t busy. I genuinely hope this business continues to thrive in Kirikiriroa, as local retailers add real value to the community. I also hope the Te Rapa store sees more foot traffic, because places like this deserve support, especially when the service is this good. Overall, a solid experience with great staff, but pricing could be more compelling to keep customers choosing local.

   Very impressed with the phone service provided by Jarvis for my purchase in sending me an e-invoice & a seperate link to their PayPortal, all within a couple of minutes. Great service! Just wish Heathcotes would open a branch in New Plymouth.

   We recently purchased a front loader washing machine from Heathcotes Tristram Street, and we were assisted by Nathan Smith. It was truly one of the best customer experiences we’ve had in a long time. Nathan was extremely knowledgeable and patient — he explained the pros and cons of different models, walked us through the features in detail, and helped us understand which one best suited our needs. What impressed us most was how genuine and approachable he was. He didn’t just treat us like customers; he made a real connection. In contrast to another store where we encountered a grumpy salesperson, Nathan’s professionalism and warmth stood out. He made us feel confident and comfortable with our purchase. Honestly, he’s the kind of salesperson that makes you feel it’s impossible to walk away without buying something because of how well he looks after you. We did shop around elsewhere, but we still came back to Nathan because we knew we were getting the best deal and the best service. We’re very happy and satisfied with our experience. Nathan is a true asset to Heathcotes — a great example of what excellent customer service should be.

   Heathcotes has a great range of products, and their in-store service and support is superb. Jayden from Heathcotes Hamilton Central has helped me with several purchases over the last 18 months and every interaction I have had with him has been positive. He has amazing product knowledge and really listens to what I am looking for in a product before making a recommendation. Keep up the good work, and thank you for all of your help setting up our kitchen!

   Arrived late in the day with questions about Hi-Fi systems. I was referred to Nathan B, he answered all my questions and advised me of many options. Thank you for being a helpful retail assistant, someone who actually knows their product and happy to talk to customers. This is why I go to Heathcotes and recommend them. I think I held them up for a couple minutes from closing but Nathan did not complain or rush me. Highly recommended store and staff.
