   Do they ever open on time? Not the first time I have turned up at 9am no lights on and no sign of life whatsoever ever.

   We visited the Puma store at the Manawa Bay outlet yesterday and purchased two pairs of shoes—one for my father and one for my husband. Unfortunately, when they wore the shoes today during rainy weather, both experienced severe slipping on concrete surfaces due to the extremely slippery soles, raising serious concerns about the product’s safety and quality. Concerned, we drove all the way from Hamilton to the Manawa Bay store to address the issue in person. However, we were extremely disappointed by the treatment we received. The store associate, Mel, was dismissive and unhelpful. She flatly refused to listen to our concerns, stating that she would not exchange or return the shoes. Her attitude came across as unprofessional and rude, especially considering the effort we made to visit the store again. After returning home, we reviewed the receipt, which clearly states that returns or exchanges are permitted within 30 days in cases of manufacturing faults. When we called the store again, Mel told us we could visit the Hamilton store and speak with the manager there to resolve the issue. We then visited the Puma store in Hamilton, where we were again treated poorly. The store manager, Tawera, began the conversation in an unnecessarily defensive and unprofessional tone. He claimed he had received no communication from Mel and dismissed our safety concerns by stating that a slippery sole does not constitute a manufacturing fault. Rather than trying to understand the issue, he seemed more focused on arguing and even accused my husband of yelling—when in reality, my husband was calmly explaining what had happened. There was no empathy or ownership from either staff member. Eventually, Tawera agreed to issue a refund but stated that it was solely out of his own goodwill—and only on the condition that we do not speak negatively about Mel. When we attempted to explain our side of the interaction with her, Tawera interrupted, defended her by saying, “I trained her, so she can’t be wrong,” and then told us to leave the store immediately. He even went so far as to threaten to call security on us, despite the fact that we were simply explaining our experience. This has been the most disappointing retail experience we’ve had in New Zealand. The level of arrogance, lack of professionalism, and unwillingness to even acknowledge a legitimate customer concern was deeply frustrating.

   These guys are seriously awesome. This was at the Base Outlet in Hamilton. Store was very busy but they were still very helpful. I think Breanna helped us. Everyone in the store was super helpful, ensuring that we found what we were looking for. Wish other stores in the retail world had a Breanna and team. Thankyou all so very much.

   Went in store today and employee Courtney was a real gem! She made us feel super welcome in the store and was able to answer any questions - definitely knows the products well! She found us a space away from other customers where I was able to try shoes on comfortably and ensured I had everything I needed. She’s an asset to the store that’s for sure!
