    Went to their Manawa Bay store earlier in the afternoon to get an item that was gifted to my partner exchanged as it was the wrong size. We were told that they do not have the correct size in any of their Auckland stores, so we opted to get it exchanged for a gift card instead. However, we were then told to go to Sylvia Park as the gift cards they had were old and won't be accepted by their new system —okay, cool, we'll head to Sylvia Park then. We arrived at Sylvia Park and the lady told us right away that she cannot exchange our item as she wasn't authorised and to go to their Newmarket Store instead. She didn't even say hi or hello until we approached her and she didn't even let me finish what I was saying. She also wasn't apologetic at all. While I acknowledge that it wasn't her fault, I would have appreciated some empathy from her given that we have been to another store already—pretty much wasting our time, fuel, and energy. Also, I think DM Sylvia Park’s management should do better with training and teaching their staff with their system. I don’t think it’s right for a customer to travel to another store (especially so close to mall closing hour; we arrived at the Sylvia Park store around 6:00 pm when the lady told us to go to Newmarket instead) or to have to come back in the morning when an authorised person is working during the extremely busy season for a simple exchange of an item. As someone who has worked years in retail, I reckon it is not logical to leave someone who cannot do a simple exchange in the store alone. It causes a lot of inconvenience for customers who will then have to deal with vehicular traffic and people traffic and find time again to pop in the mall just for a 5-minute exchange of an item. Reading some of the other reviews in here, they should do better with hiring staff with better customer service as well.

    Super unfriendly staff. They do not help in finding sizes, welcome you into the store, or ask if you need help. Super disappointing and should learn better customer service skills.

    Sadly their manufacturing quality has gone really down hill - with now not offering a repair service and only a one year warranty I don’t think it’s worth the purchase. Blair sandal buckle broke after about 10 years, repair shop I went to said they see this every week with these. Sad to see such a once good brand stop producing quality

    I went into the store the other day just to grab some laces quickly, and picked out what i needed which was easy! But there was no one in the store - so I waited inside for twenty or so minutes and some other customers came in too... and still no one. So I finally realised no one was gonna come and put my purchase through so I left and came back an hour later and finally was able to make my purchase with the lady, but no effort for customer service was made and she definitely did not want to be there. I get that if theres only one person working and they need to go on break, but please shut the shop instead of leaving to floor unattended like that for 30minutes, it makes it hard to want to make a purchase :(

    Today I went into the Onehunga DressMart Dr Martens store & got excellent welcoming, help from the staff there. Anna specifically was really informative & helpful and naturally happy to assist me. Thank you Anna. They are lucky to have you! You made the experience a great one. I'll come back and additionally recommend the place and the shoes!

    My sisters & I popped into the Sylvia Park store for a quick size exchange and we were served by the most loveliest retail assistant ever! She said her name was Oli & I kid you not, we are from Wellington and have been disappointed so far in how many retail shop assistants up here in AKL are unwelcoming, unapproachable and simply give ‘don’t talk to us’ vibes - when that is literally the crux of their job. But anyway, Oli was welcoming from the start, made us feel so comfortable, tended to all our requests and questions & did not make us feel like burdens. When you get service like this, it’s a breath of fresh air and I only hope that many other retail workers take notes from her! A beautiful experience! Thank you so much ☺️

    I just went to your Dressmart Store today just before noon. One of your team may need to go and teach them some Customer Services skills instead of ignoring us while we walked around the shop while noone else was in there. There were 3 of them who were way too cool to want to smile or even acknowledge anyone.
