My name is Nhu (preferred name: Mina). I am writing to raise a serious concern about how I was treated at The Doctors Greenlane, and I believe it needs to be looked into properly. I went to this clinic for medical help, including for mental health. I did my best to follow all medical advice, and I was on medication (Sertraline and now also Mirtazapine). But I was treated unfairly and unprofessionally by some staff, especially the practice manager Betty Chang, and the doctor Ryo. I felt judged, dismissed, and not respected when I was in a very vulnerable state. I made a complaint to the Health and Disability Commissioner (HDC), but even though they closed the case, the way I was treated caused real harm to my mental health. After that, I still tried to ask for fairness and to continue seeing my current GP. Instead of listening to me, they removed me from the clinic completely and cancelled my booked appointment. I was still under treatment and needing support. I believe this was a form of retaliation because I spoke up about my care. That is wrong and unprofessional. I would like to be clear that Dr. Cathlyna is a very good doctor. She has been kind and supportive, and I trust her. I was also under the care of a psychiatrist (Dr. Kumar). I still need ongoing care and was not expecting to be suddenly removed when I’m on medication. This whole experience has made my mental health worse, and I feel very disappointed that patients can be removed like this just for asking for fairness. I believe this clinic’s actions need to be reviewed, and I want Health NZ to know what happened. Thank you for reading my complaint. Kind regards, Nhu (Mina)

3 months ago I went to see the doctors for my regular 3 month check. I was told to do my regular blood check up in June. I told them I wanted the awanui labtest scrip to be email to the labtest as it was done before. Today I fasted 12 hours and went to the lab but they informed me they got no scrip from the Doctors. This is the 2nd time the Doctors failed to email the scrip to labtest. It courseme much inconvenience as Saturday is where I am not working so I can do the blood test The staff are not very well trained in following up on admin or check with us at the counter when we pay them on our request. So I left fuming again.

Got phone call asking for my daughter immusation record (who born in Aus but living in nz since 5) and I said we transfer from doctor newlynn and i can send it directly to them but it will cost me $60 to review my daughter's record who should be free.....otherwise I needed to call new lynn myself to transfer the record. Or else no one care about if she is missing any immunization or not...VERY HELPFUL!

It takes weeks to get an appointment and then you are rushed through the appointment. This clinic is a total money grab. I have a two year special authority to get repeat scripts for 24 months, and I am constantly declined my requests for scripts and asked to come in and see the doctors (and pay the full consultation fee each time). I have had enough and am moving clinics. Have been with TDG for two years and have had nothing but bad experiences I am always forced to come in and spend more money to get scripts I am entitled to.

Just had a fantastic doctors experience. As someone who doesn't often go to see a doctor I was impressed. The staff were very friendly and the doctors knowledge and calm demeanour really made me feel at ease. She recommended extra checks which I agreed to and the entire visit including my medication was just $60. Highly recommend to anyone sitting on the fence about visiting the doctors.

I transferred my care over to The Doctors Greenlane recently and couldn't be happier with the service. From the moment I made contact with the reception team, they actioned everything promptly and efficiently whilst communicating with me every step of the way. I am cared for by Dr. Gary Wu and I have found him to be a warm, kind and compassionate doctor who practices evidenced-based medicine. I would highly recommend The Doctors Greenlane.

Literally walked away crying. The receptionist at the beginning didn’t tell me how much it was going to be for an appointment only until afterwards for a casual fee. I knew I had strep throat as my partner went to the doctors and it was confirmed. I was only seen for by a doctor for 5 minutes and she talked me into only doing treatment for 5 days instead of the normal 10 as she didn’t think it was that bad. Walked away with antibiotics for 5 days and some ibuprofen and paracetamol. When I went back to the counter to pay she told me it was $89.10 which had me very visibly stunned and I asked if I could sign up as a patient instead to get a cheaper fee but that they only accepted passports or birth certificates and that even if I came back to sign up, I’d have to pay that fee and wait for a refund of the difference. The price chart is not easily visible and she only showed it to me after the appointment. While on the phone trying to find a copy of my birth certificate or passport photo to show, the ladies at the reception were mocking me, giggling and it made me cry. I decided to give the form back and not sign up as I felt taken advantage of and humiliated. I paid the fee and got out of their asap and asked for an invoice to be emailed over. On the invoice, for the 5 MINUTES I spent in there after telling her I had strep throat and confirmed it, it was $89.10. The doctors fee is the only fee on the invoice. I’m outraged and will never be coming back or recommending this medical centre to anyone.

I have been seen by 3 female doctors here, 2 of them seemed like they were rushing my appointment every time I saw them. I feel like they're extremely money-driven and I didn't feel like they actually care about me as a patient. We are humans and we expect to be treated as such.

I would like to file a complaint about the service I received today from my general practitioner (GP- Dr Gary Wu) at The Doctors in Green Lane, Auckland. To facilitate the consultation, I prepared a list of health issues I have been experiencing. The nurse kindly took note of all my concerns. However, when I spoke with the GP, I was told to only discuss one item from the list. I chose to mention my polycystic ovary problem, which causes severe abdominal pain, migraines, and breast tenderness, often waking me up at night. Unfortunately, the doctor seemed disinterested and only checked an old examination I had previously undergone. He requested a new test and abruptly stated that he couldn't help me further, immediately printing the test orders and referring me to the nurse for a urine test. I left the room feeling utterly perplexed, not understanding what had just happened. I still had other health issues to discuss, such as body allergies, sinusitis, hair loss, intense headaches, and frequent dryness of the lips. The GP's lack of care made me feel like I was merely a product there to pay for a consultation and be rushed out in 15 minutes. If I wanted to address other health concerns, it seemed I would have to schedule another appointment. I want to highlight that this is the first time since I arrived in New Zealand that I have experienced such treatment. Never before has a GP treated me like a commodity. Every other doctor I have seen has treated me with great kindness and done their best to help me feel better. It is important to note that every time I visit a GP, I have to request time off work and pay a $59NZ consultation fee. I had to wait outside the GP's office just to obtain prescriptions for the issues I wanted to discuss, and even that was denied. I spoke to the receptionist, explaining that I didn't come there to address just one problem and that the doctor didn't even let me finish explaining what else I needed to discuss. It was a lack of respect and humanity. This type of treatment is unacceptable. I sincerely hope that appropriate measures will be taken to ensure that no other patient goes through such a frustrating and disrespectful experience. It is crucial for all healthcare professionals to treat their patients with care, empathy, and respect, regardless of the available consultation time.
