Special thanks to the two staff members working on Saturday morning. Bought my father in to purchase new shoes. He usually finds shopping extremely overwhelming and overstimulating. The staff were really fun with him, and their positive energy made him feel super comfortable. He left very happy with his new pair of Salomons and is already talking about buying more (huge for him).

do not come here. the manager at the hype newmarket is absolutely appalling. i came in to ask her opinion about these nike air forces i had for 3 months that were literally falling apart, soles coming off and everything. a piece of plastic at the back of the shoe had cut into my achilles tendon. i wore these shoes only around university. the rather large female manager looked at me with a disdainful glare and told me i was lying - and later tried to intimidate me to leave the store. an all up horrible woman who has zero interest in doing her job properly.

I bought a pair of Nikes at their Black Friday sale. They looked great but were a bit painful around the ankles. The salesperson said they would be fine after "I broke them in." 8 months later, they are still painful. I finally threw them away today. I won't be shopping there again. I've never, ever, experienced painful Nikes. I suspect they might not have been genuine. Also, I tried to contact them but the email button on their "contact" page didn't work at all. They don't want you to contact them. Not recommended.

So I went in the store last Friday 29/9. The guy sale attendant on the store just couldn't be bothered to help me out. Like all the sizes I asked on different styles were not available. I mean, really? He kept pushing me to go to the Queen Street branch. I know you were busy with stuff but you have paying customers. I left went up and bought from a different shop. Your loss not mine. Head up to StyleRunner were their sales personnel have better attitude.

Incredibly unprofessional retail consultancy. The employee serving me on the day I picked up my shoes called me a 'girl' twice and flirted with me (I am clearly a woman and wear an engagement ring) after making a covertly racist comment. I understand the intentions were supposedly innocent but it was an incredibly uncomfortable and misogynistic experience that certainly makes me not want to enter the store again. As an Asian woman, I was asked where I'm from, then when I said 'New Zealand' and had to keep assuring I was born and raised here, he said, "no, where are you really from?" Then proceeded to say how my English was good etc. and insinuating I sound like a Kiwi but am not one. Please implement a cultural diversity training and/or hold an ethnic inclusion discussion for your staff. That's the bare minimum for not only cultivating more appropriate conduct as decent human beings, but also operating as a business that should aim to have anti-discrimination values.
