Chef billy is turning out well executed meals and very decent prices . Chicken breast in coconut sauce was very good . Accommodated the other halfs changes to her steak meal . Daughters fish n chips was great Real nice hearty food . Bang for buck 10/10 Bloody impressed Thanks Dion
I took my grandson (or did he take me!) to the RSA for a night of karaoke and dinner. There's something special about Glen Eden RSA, and being in a friendly place where everyone is having a great time. The boy was stoked and all set to sing but in the face of such excellent voices, decided not to. Kei te pai. We ordered fish and chips for dinner. I'd heard fantastic reports of Chef Billy Tauata but never in all my years have I enjoyed fish and chips more (and I've eaten in Yorkshire the home of f&ch). Superbly succulent fish, the crispiest batter I've ever eaten, delicious chips and salad - tino reka for sure. No reira Matua Billy, Na to kai tino pai i tino motuhake to māua māua huihuinga. Nga mihi nui ki a koe me te ringa wera. The lovely barman even carried our drinks to the table - what service is that?? For a relaxed, no-hassle, light-hearted evening, forget the city's snooty $200 snack dinners and stay local, you will NOT do better.
