   Walking along Tamaki Drive, Mission Bay, Auckland, we came across this restaurant. Mamma Mia is an Italian style restaurant, that's unique, friendly, cozy, and welcoming. The 1st thing I noticed was the lovely welcoming smile. So many places give you the feeling that you're disturbing them. Here, it was like coming home to family. The 2nd thing was being allowed to choose our seating. I'm not a fan of being told which seat I have to accept. Service was fast, efficient, menu was explained simply, but perfectly. Drink menu was offered, but not pushed. The over-riding atmosphere was marvelous. It was evident that everyone was enjoying themselves, from adults to children. The chairs were very comfortable throughout our time there (I have a bad hip). I ordered and enjoyed 2 glasses of Chadonnay, served fast, perfectly chilled and with a smile. We both ordered Rib Eye, which comes with vegetables and a lovely Jus (gravy) we also ordered a side of fries. They too were awesome, crunchy and delicious. The lovely waitress(possibly an owner, I don't know) brought the fries out first, so we could eat them as an entree. They came with 2 small plates, forks, and 2 different sauces. Shortly after, the main was served. Again with a smile and friendly. It looked awesome, smelt awesome and tasted divine. If there was the tiniest change I could make, it would be to make the lovely Jus very slightly thicker,so more of it would stick to the beef. The meat was cooked to absolute perfection and almost dissolved the mouth..not too chewy The dessert menu looked great, but we're not big eaters and were full. We have every intention to return and enjoy a yummy dessert soon. We didn't reserve a table. We walked off the street. When we arrived, the restaurant was about 80% full. By the time we left, it was still accepting customers. 《Ohh..we had already had a few bites before I realized the food was so good, I just had to share. Hence the photos showing partly eaten food.》

   Food lives up to the name. It's Mama Mia alright! Had the steak and chicken pasta. Service is attentive and discrete. Often a hard balancing act. Empty plates say so much. Sorry for the bad photo. But we launched into the food before the brain could engage Instagram mode. Lucky a friend saved the day.

   When I had ordered my pizza from this lovely restaurant, my pizza had came nice and fresh. It was nice and steamy but the best part was eating it. The ingredients had a very pungent smell that was amazing! I would recommend this beautiful restaurant to any people trying to find a good place to eat.

   (Visited and reviewed on 27 August 2023) Delicious Pizzas over here at Mission Bay, despite the large sizes being a bit pricy. We ordered the Mamma Mia special, Meat Lovers and Garlic Bread pizzas, alongside the calamari. All were really good!

   My experience was worst. Firstly, we reached there around 10pm and were not allowed to dine in so we opted for take away which is still fine but we were asked why were we so late, I wonder why do they keep their restaurant open if not willingly to serve any customers after 10pm. We were not served well and it was a forced service. We were asked to pay before the order was ready and we did but when the order was ready we asked whether the spices were added and the man responded come tomorrow if anything is missing which is an unacceptable rude behavior. I would never recommend anyone. The pizza was very salty and that's all we could taste. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

   Came in for dinner, service was good, ordered 4 pasta dishes 2 chicken, 1 Bolognese and 1 salmon along with 1 large meat lover pizza and garlic bread. All meals were tasty and great, serving portions was ok but could've used about more meat in all our pasta dishes. Prices were reasonable. Nice little Italian diner. 4 stars because parking can be little tricky to find at peak times and pasta dishes could've used a tad more protein in them.
