   I had a good experience with this company. The car was an older Toyota but it drove very smooth. It had a lot of space and also cover for the trunk (feeling safer to store my goods when parked). The shuttle came very quick and the people were very friendly. The bond was released 5 minutes after drop off. One thing to notice tho is that the bond is very high. Bond = liability. Starts from 3000 nzd (which I was surprised. For brand new cars with other providers I usually leave only 2-500). If you pay extra per day you leave a lesser bond. However they inspect the car very carefully for damages so pay attention. My windshield had 2 cracks in it. I could hear the lady at the counter arguing over the phone with a customer that for a small Crack they were held liable for 1000-1200nzd as they had to replace the entire windshield. But I wonder if they do replace them or just take the money and then eventually replace it once. Anyway, I recommend this company, just make sure you take a lot of pictures and drive responsibly.

   Quality experience, flew into Wellington and MODE sent a shuttle to pick us up (after calling), took us back to the depot and picked up our rental there. Quick and easy, both pick up and drop off. Friendly staff and minimal hassles during the entire process.

   My husband and I made a booking through a third party company and due to confusion on our end, we ended up cancelling the booking then needing to rebook in a panic the next morning. Sarah at the desk was EXTREMELY helpful and kind and sorted our booking out for us. Super grateful for her assistance which allowed us to start our holiday on a less stressed note! 10/10 would recommend. Sarah, you deserve a treat!

   Mode rentals made it smooth and easy. Complimentary pick up from Wellington airport to the car, easy process, tidy car (Toyota yaris), our pick up driver was entertaining, price was decent, also free drop off back to airport once you drop car off.

   We rented a car from the Wellington branch for three weeks in May/June 2024. It was made easy by the staff who were incredibly helpful, efficient and laid back. The car went really well, despite the kilometres on the clock, as the duty staff told me. Kilometres per litre was good and we drove all around the North Island except up to the Bay of Islands. We thoroughly recommend this company to anyone looking to rent a car. Thank you Wellington Branch, Malcolm

   Cheap and cheerful. Staff are good and the depot is a short journey from the airport. Beware if renting an electric car. They will charge you an additional daily fee for the charging chord and aren’t keen to modify/negotiate this policy. It’s a bit like renting a car with a locking fuel cap and having to pay extra for the key.

   Saved so much money renting with Mode and not Avis, We needed a bigger car, so the savings where bigger $$$, and when our plans changed they went out of the way to accomodate me, thanks . It was so good to take all the family to dinner is one car and not three! And the only car that could fit our luggage

   Our mode care hire experience was mixed to say the least. We hired a car for 5 days and had a Toyota Yaris. The car was great no issues there at all. Communication was mixed, it was great before car hire and we were picked up from the airport but a helpful and friendly employee. After this communication fell away completely, we never received our rental agreement paperwork or the information about where to drop off the car after hours. We were told this had been sent to our email before leaving the rental office. We never heard that the car was safely collected or got notification of our bond being returned. It seems that there are some employees really letting the team down, especially those responsible for the admin side of things. Won’t be back in a hurry.

   We used Mode to tour from Wellington to Auckland and couldn't be happier. Pickup at Wellington airport was quick and we were on the road in no time. Drop off in Auckland was simple. Cars were not new but clean and reliable. Highly recommend for price and service. Security deposit was returned on the same day as return.
