   This is great little friendly cafe with delicious homemade pies . I had the Pumpkin Onion pie left me wanting to buy another one after eating it as it was so delicious . A nice hot chocolate not too sweet and coffees were great too.

   Fabulous fish n chips tonight as we came back from our hike on the Omanawanui track at Whatipu. Great atmosphere and they gave us a huge portion of chips and extra fish. Delicious food and such a nice atmosphere sitting outside under the lights as the locals came and went collecting their delicious Friday night takeaways. Everyone is friendly.

   I had the most scrumptious veggie burger, partner had bbq burger. Both were delicious and fresh and huge! The chips are fabulous too, proper chips, thick and crunchy! We are making this our every Friday night treat. The people at Alfred's are lovely too. Warm and friendly and very welcoming. All around the best place in town!

   Alfred's Huia Store is a great spot for a delicious meal near the beach. Their Snapper is fresh and cooked perfectly. The Oreo cookie is a perfect dessert, and their coffee is great to pair with it. The Butter Chicken pie is flavourful and satisfying, It can be hard to find a good Butter Chicken pie these days, and I highly recommend it. Overall, a cozy and welcoming spot with plenty of options to choose from, and a lot of local history on their walls (photos). A great way to end the day after a long hike at one of the many nearby walks.
