I don't like seeing stores like these operate - selling live cats and dogs. Mammals are long living animals and should not be an impuls buy when you visit the store to buy other products. This store is selling tiny puppies, less than 1kg... they sit in cages and wait for love, their situation being very unnatural and different from what planned puppies experience. Leaving their moms and then into their new forever homes. The breeders of these puppies being sold are also n huge concern. Responsible breeders will vet the future owners of their pups. A buyer should also make sure that the puppy they buy have been bred responsibly. That there are no hereditary issues in the animal they buy. Do not support the Sale of puppies by pet stores! Your 12 - 15 year commitment should be well planned.

This shop does not even deserve one star on this review. I have been aware for a number of weeks that they had Yorkshire Terrier puppies in their store for sale. One in each of their store locations (Botany and Penrose). At least six weeks passed and it is brought to my attention these puppies and others are still in these shops for sale in far from ideal conditions for healthy development for any growing pup. Members of one of the largest NZ Yorkshire Terrier Communities raised funds and a member went in and brought two pups, one a Yorkie and one a Maltese, just so they could get them out of this situation. This member asked for breeders information so that family health histories could be checked and they were told that unless they paid extra money they would not be given this vital information. I am totally dumbfounded by this. I would have thought your asking price of $2400 (which is excessive!) would have been more than sufficient to cover this. A purchaser of a puppy has every right to expect this information to be given freely. You are a total rip off! What are you hiding? You do not care about the animals in your shop. It is apparent you only want whatever money you can squeeze out of people. Where are you getting these puppies from? A puppy mill has been suggested over and over to me. How in today's world can a Pet Shop still be supporting either a puppy mill or so-called- breeders who will allow their puppies to be exploited and sold in this manner? WHO! No decent breeder would do this and then hide who they are behind the sales person in a Pet Shop. This needs to stop now! I hope the general public read these reviews and stop supporting your business. I so hope you are ashamed of what you do. I hear the very next day you have replaced the puppies sold with more puppies. You totally disgust me and any dog loving NZer! Please, if you are a potential customer to this business . . go elsewhere to make your purchase.

Adopt or buy from a reputable breeder – do not shop here. Just yesterday, a puppy was purchased from this store by someone who believed they were rescuing it after it had been up for sale for approximately six weeks. When I spoke with the store, they mentioned using 'contract breeders.' The puppy that had been there for weeks has now already been replaced with another, suggesting a constant turnover of puppies. This practice is concerning on many levels. Please do not support this store or their sale of puppies, other animals, and livestock. Their approach is not only unethical, but they also fail to provide any information about the animal's lineage or heritage, which we specifically asked for. You could unknowingly purchase a pet with serious hereditary issues, causing significant heartache. Additionally, there is no way to know the conditions in which the puppy was raised by their contract breeders.

Excellent pricing and service. They had all the products that I required. All your pets needs are in this store. Very under rated with stand alone parking and the staff are very helpful.

I recently visited a pet stop and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the unpleasant odour that permeated the store. The air felt stale and the conditions for the animals were concerning. The animals themselves looked unhappy and unhealthy. The cages were overcrowded and dirty, with little room for the animals to move around or exercise. Some of the animals appeared to be sick or injured, with no apparent care or attention being given to them. The staff at the store were unhelpful and uninterested in answering any questions I had. They seemed to be more concerned with their personal conversations than assisting customers. When I tried to ask about the animals' care, I was met with a dismissive attitude and a lack of knowledge about the animals they were supposed to be caring for. Furthermore, the store's selection of pet food and supplies was extremely limited and of poor quality. Many of the products were expired, damaged, or of questionable origin, which is unacceptable for a store that claims to sell pet food and supplies. Overall, my experience at this pet store was incredibly disappointing. The conditions for the animals were concerning, the staff was unhelpful, and the products sold were of poor quality. I would not recommend this pet store to anyone and would encourage others to seek out more reputable and responsible pet stores that prioritize the welfare of their animals.

The most disgusting company that needs to be shut down! Has no care or compassion for the animals they sell and clearly gets their puppies from backyard breeders or mills. DO NOT support this place. Read up on the prosecutions against them from SPCA for improper care. I went into the East Tamaki store and there was a puppy all alone in their glass cages. No company, barely any bedding/warmth and according to the signage was 3 months old at that time, yet the food available to the puppy was clearly adult . You could see the distress and the puppy was shaking uncontrollably. Get it together PetStop.
