    BUYER BEWARE. Don't think "it won't happen to me" like I did. Brought a $900 aquarium chiller through trademe. Doesn't work. In fact heats up the water. Going into 6 days with no actual outcome, just keep getting passed around staff and being asked to troubleshoot the same problems.

    Great place to go for all your pet needs especially for aquatic, tropical fish products. Easy parking, loyalty rewards and competitive pricing. Nice people to deal with. Highly recommend.

    Pet stop is a terrible shop. Selling coral rock for $12 a kg. When I went to buy in shop they said $20kg. I said it’s on sale on the website and instead of honouring the sale she deleted it from the website. I would not recommend this pet store at all if you would like friendly helpfully staff. I would also avoid them selling on trade me to. Beware. The pet shop as a Facebook page warning people to stay away and that the spca has been called many times due to poor animal health.

    Wanted a new dog. Spoke to some breeders and they happened to want to meet outside of the Penrose PetStop store. They were obviously going to sell their puppies to them. I had the day wrong, i had the day before I was supposed to meet them so thought to go into the pet store and then I set eyes on the a dog and had to have him despite knowing if I just waited a day I would save hundreds of dollars by buying directly from the breeders. I, fell in love basically. With this one lonely puppy whose siblings had already been sold. So I made the transaction. I was starting to become annoyed with all her attempts of upselling. I bought what I needed to but recognised a lot of items were inflated in price so had to keep deflecting her, the owner, just wanting to get this bundle of cuteness home. Anyway, I was told, without a doubt that what was now my puppy, that he was up to date with his vaccinations. He was 12 weeks old so I assumed he had one more lot to go and was told yes yes he up to date. He wasn’t. When I took him to my vet for what I thought was his final shots, couldn’t wait to walk him, I was told he needed ones that day and then again a month later, that he also hadn’t had the kennel cough one at all. He was going to be 5 months by the time I could walk him. When I later looked through his little book it seemed he hadn’t had a shot since the very first when he was still with the breeders. Nor had he been recently treated for fleas. And he had had them-I treated him after I bathed him the day I got him home. The only thing they had done was keep up with his worming treatment. So yeah, I got his vaccinations updated and then I called them. Was told to send through a pic of his vaccinations inc. The ones I had just sorted for him. I did so and no response. I emailed again…haven’t heard back. THEY ARE A DISGRACE. I wonder too if the dogs are left alone overnight in these white cubed pens too. And oh, I asked for some puppy food and she sold me some for large breeds (didn’t notice until I got home), told me it was what she had been feeding him. The kibble was big enough he could only chew one single pellet a time. I strongly believe the spca, instead of focussing on making money from people with their own pet type-stores should investigate business owners like this. Horrendous. I mean, talking about it now infuriates me so badly I want to drive over there and scream at her but instead, I’ll just write this hopefully scathing review and finish with BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!!! or more to the point BUYERS NEVER BUY FROM HERE!!!

    Would give 0 stars if I could. Absolute worst customer experience I've ever had, bought a filter last Thursday. Tested this morning on my only day off was a 45 min drive away. They told me the filter is supposed to rattle like rocks in a tin can. Told me to leave it with them for a week. Went to Hollywood fish farm and bought a new filter and binned the junk purchased from petstop. What a waste of time and money for an external filter. Do not shop here. Period.

    I recently visited Pet Stop and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The store was cluttered and disorganized, making it difficult to find what I was looking for. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, making me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The animals in the store looked unhealthy and unhappy. The cages were small and dirty, with little to no bedding or enrichment for the animals. Some of the animals looked sick and were coughing or sneezing, which is a major red flag for any responsible pet store. The products for sale were of poor quality and overpriced. I found several items that were cheaper at other pet stores or online retailers. The selection of products was limited, and the store did not carry many of the popular brands that I usually buy for my pets. To make matters worse, the checkout process was slow and inefficient. There was only one cashier on duty, and there was a long line of customers waiting to check out. The cashier seemed to be disorganized and confused, which resulted in a delay in the checkout process. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at this pet store. The store seemed to prioritize profit over the well-being of its animals and customers. I will not be returning to this store and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a reputable and responsible pet store.

    We bought a puppy yesterday and whole process was very smooth. The staffs are knowledgeable and extremely friendly, being a first time dog owner, we don’t know much about how to start, they gave us lots of information and advice and made us feel confident before we take the puppy home. The shop is big and has pretty much everything that you need for your pets. Free parking available and easy to find on the main road.

    Lots of variety around the shop for food, toys, medicines, cleaning, bedding for a large variety of pets. Tidy and a lot of room to Maneuver. Can get a VIP card. Parking out front of Penrose location. Had puppies in at the time (viewing by arrangement). Staff were attentive when needed to be & helpful.

    NEVER BUY ANYTHING ON PREPAY FROM THIS BUSINESS. I ordered/paid full amount of $135.20 for an Arowana fish on the 29th of June 2021 and I was promised my fish will arrive in a weeks time. But after 4 weeks of me asking these guys for my fish I get a call on the 27th of July 2021 that their supplier does not have stock! On 28th July when I went to the store to get my money back, I was told they will transfer it to my bank account in 3 days and it is now going to be nearly a week and I still have not got my money back from these CHEATERS! This pet store has very limited and poor live stock of fish and ask for upfront full payment from the customers to order any fish and then come back with nothing after a month. I will keep this feedback going until this business solves this for me.

    A store with way more things than the usual fish and pet store. They have free parking outside for store visitors. The staff is friendly. They have good qlty products and the store is always in tip top shape. keep up the good work team.
