   Been using animates for grooming for a couple years without a hitch. Moved house so used this store and was incredibly disappointed and will not return. Firstly groomer didn’t even speak a lick of English. Secondly, job was 1/10 no bath, minimal to no hair cut and bad job on nails. Dog looks like he hasn’t been groomed for months after only a couple weeks.

   I’ve always used Animates for my dog grooming ( been to different branches and no problem ) but was disappointed with my recent experience. The lady who did my dog’s haircut was very uneven, with patches of long and short hair that didn’t look well blended and my dog nails were left quite sharp. I was also told to come back and take time after two hours, but the lady called me three times within that period saying my dog was ready, which felt rushed. Also, my dog didn’t smell particularly fresh after the grooming — it didn’t seem like much of a difference from before. Overall, I’m not happy with the result and expected more attention to detail and care for the price.

   The man who groomed our dog did an excellent job, probably the best we've ever had for a brush out of our long haired double coated samoyed. Something to note though is that he initially asked if we wanted her trimmed down to a poodle style cut. This indicated that he had no samoyed experience and you would never trim their coat - possibly just hygiene areas. We made sure it was clear no scissor or trimming allowed. We were very worried leaving our girl but the end result was excellent. We will definitely go back again for a wash and brush out. No knots in sight. She also smelled wonderful.

   I went and bought some fish food. It was on specials. Nice and big pet store. Can buy any kind of pet food and accessories from here. Customer service was nice. Can groom your dog here.

   Got some straws for our guinea pigs. No animal to look at. This store used to sell dogs, cats and birds. Not selling life fish. However, you can bring your dog to wonder in the shop. I guess it is because the shop provide grooming service to dogs. The place is big. Well stock. Animates is opening during public holidays.

   I always thought that Animates is just expensive pet shop and it works out better to shop online. Wrong! If you are good at shopping you can find deals better than online. And the staff is beyond helpful and nice, you won't get that online. Also signed up for repeating food delivery which worked out the cheapest out of the whole NZ Internet! Your pet will get a nice treat from the staff and overall just love this place now. Got (more as a joke) lady bug poncho for $2! And would buy wrong size harness if it wouldn't be for a great lady who works there and who helped a lot.
