There’s no information on your website about consultation fees, no before-and-after photos of your chemical peels, and no detailed explanation of the treatment itself. When I called to book, I was told the consultation alone is $200. That means I’d have to pay $200 just to find out basic information that should already be available online. I’m more than happy to pay for effective treatments, but I’m not willing to pay $200 simply to decide whether I even want to proceed—especially for what sounds like a very brief consultation. For comparison, I’ve had a free consultation with a nurse in Ponsonby who offers chemical peels. She was open, friendly, answered my questions on the spot, and there was no gatekeeping or pressure. That experience alone made my decision easy. I was actually considering going ahead with this clinic for my chemical peel, but the $200 consultation fee completely put me off. You have to pay just to breathe in New Zealand—charging for absolutely everything. I understand time is money but I don't get charged when I go to the Casey clinic or the laser clinic when I have basic questions. I would be happy to pay $50 but not 200 hell no girl bye!
I had an amazing experience at ponsonby Doctors today. In such a busy time, it was amazing to be seen as a person not as a number. The team went above and beyond and I left feeling very impressed, I was professionally treated by an awesome team and fantastic doctor. Thank you.
For the start, I’ve lived here for 40 years and 582 karangahape Road is not ponsonby. I checked with the postal code and it is Grey Lynn 1010. We had a terrible experience on King’s birthday weekend 2025, a public holiday. The ambulance service recommended this clinic and gave us a voucher, the website was extremely confusing as to whether it was open or not. There was no answer phone expressing hours or whether it was open on a public holiday. Even Chat GPT said it would be open from 9 am to 1 pm. The voucher we had, we could only use at this clinic valid for four hours. The parking is extremely difficult there is no signage where to park. It was closed in the end and caused us some distress and waste of time. Not good enough. Be clear - are you open or not on a public holiday, your website should be clear about this with the hours. You need an answer phone that has a recorded message on hours and public holidays. It’s just basic business and courtesy and professionalism. I told the ambulance people, do not recommend this clinic in future. Even they were confused and we had to cancel the voucher and it wasted ambulance and health staff time unnecessarily.
I've been visiting many times, and now I think I should really consider changing hospitals. The doctor's not bad, but the reception system is a mess. Appointments are meaningless here. If your appointment is at 11 o'clock, you'll only see the doctor at 12. If this is going to happen, i think they should have walk-in operations. They really make patients wait forever, and you won't hear a single word 'sorry' about it.
Went to see a doc as was in a lot of pain. Rachel and team were fantastic and I didn’t have to wait all given it was a public holiday. Rachel was very nice and made me feel comfortable. Great team
PD has always been good to me, and great location. But I stopped in today to try the new massage clinic, and Setia was AMAZING. I had no idea how tight my back and shoulders were but she found every knot. My sore shoulders are 10x happier.
We will definitely go back as it is great to have a second option when our regular GP is not on. Kind and efficient doctor and staff. Easy parking , x-ray on site.
Had a skin consultation with Dr. Rachel Lee. The appointment was on time, no waiting. Accommodated most of the requests. She provided a cause and solution for the issue. Done the Cryotherapy without any pain or stinging. Had multiple visits, in the last visit I was 5 mins late and I informed the receptionist guy. He said I can't visit the doctor this time, as I was 5 mins late. But another Receptionist Girl came and told its okay and told me to take a seat as the doctor was in another procedure. But that guy kept saying that I am late by 5 mins 3 times and wanted me to not attend my appointment. But another kind receptionist said its okay. I reduced 1 star just because of the receptionist person.
Easy car park, very warm welcoming at the reception. Dr Rachel Lee is very good listener and helpful. I even received an email few days later to make sure I getting better. I Definitely recommend Ponsonby doctors.
