Spent the night and morning there. Had to wait 9hours to see a doctor. But it s not the problem as I understand that they are understaffed What bothers me is the lack of empathy from the nurses. If you don't like this job you should mt do it! I spent from 3 am until 1pm there and the nurse who looked after me didn't even said goodbye to me just remove my IV and left !! However doctor and midwife I saw were lovely and I think it s the least you can do have basic simple manners for your patients.

Amazing experience all round. Thank you ward 61! I was in hospital for my 21st birthday and the nurses came and sung happy birthday and brought me some cake to celebrate. Overall a fast diagnosis and surgery for appendicitis and a quick recovery too. The team and hospital staff were amazing, such great people

Outstanding care in Ward 97 Gynaecology. I went to the emergency department on Wednesday and it is now Friday night. I had to have an acute surgery to remove 2 large cysts in my ovaries as well as some endometriosis on Thursday. Post op, I was lucky enough to receive a single room with an awesome view of both Rangitoto and the sky tower. Every nurse, doctor and HCA I came into contact with was exceptional. I would be happy for anyone I know to be cared for here as I know they would be receiving top quality healthcare treatment. Ward 97 you make me proud to be a nurse, you show empathy, professionalism, kindness, attentiveness, and compassion. In my career if I even became half as good as you all are I know that would make me a great nurse. A special shoutout to the nursing student from UniTec you were so awesome and I just know one day you will be a fantastic nurse.

This doesn’t even deserve a 1 star. I have had worse experiences being at ED the staff treat you like cattle. They are rude and lack empathy I have trauma thinking about my experiences at this hospital it has never ever been good.

Why remind us to come on time to our appointments if you gonna be over an HOUR late. Left work early and hoped to go back but not looking promising. 10:15am and not getting seen till way later like… just remember if you booked a patient for an appointment you need to promise the patient that time slot. Also your making it EXPENSIVE FOR PARKING!!! The longer the time the more money you have to pay for the car park…. love all the nurses and drs but you need to change the way your time slots work… it’s unfair for the patients. The government need to help our hospitals!!!

An incompetent nightmare: The hospital nurse from hell I recently had the unfortunate experience of encountering what can only be described as the worst hospital nurse imaginable. Olivia Hammond's demeanor was nothing short of appalling. She displayed a complete lack of empathy and compassion, treating patients as if they were mere inconveniences rather than individuals in need of care. I could sense her disinterest and dismissive attitude, which immediately made me question her suitability for such a critical profession. Moreover, Olivia's medical knowledge left much to be desired. It seemed as if she hadn't updated her skills or education in decades, as she struggled to answer basic questions about medications, treatment plans, and potential side effects. I feared for the safety of patients under her care, as it became evident that Olivia lacked the expertise to handle even the simplest medical issues. Communication was another significant issue with Olivia. She was often unclear in her instructions and explanations, leaving patients confused and anxious about their conditions and treatment. When patients sought clarification, she responded with irritation and condescension, further adding to the distress of already vulnerable individuals. Perhaps the most shocking aspect of Olivia's behavior was her willingness to gossip about patients with other staff members. Confidentiality is a fundamental principle of healthcare, and her blatant breach of this trust was both unprofessional and unethical. In conclusion, my experience with this hospital nurse was nothing short of a nightmare. Her lack of empathy, medical knowledge, communication skills, time management, hygiene standards, and professionalism all combined to create a hazardous and unpleasant environment for patients. It is disheartening to think that someone so ill-suited for nursing could be entrusted with the care of vulnerable individuals. I strongly urge the hospital administration to address this issue promptly and ensure that patients receive the standard of care they deserve from qualified and compassionate professionals.

Emergency wait is 3 hours. Booked me for a scan at 10.30am the next day. Told to arrive at 10. Got my turn at 12 pm. 3 stars given for the customer service. Everyone was super friendly. The most important issue, government need to solve. We need more doctors and nurses.

Over the last 12 months, a number of my family have had the misfortune of needing a hospital, including my daughter and very young, months old, grandson. On Saturday, another extended family member was admitted into the A&E after an accident. Over the last 6 months this particular family member has been admitted into A&E many times due poor health and the care they have received is amazing. On all of these visits, the doctors and nursing staff were attentive, reassuring and professional. On Saturday Dr Bernard Foley was on duty and was so lovely and kind. He made my family member and myself feel reassured and confident about the decisions that were made. He was very clear on the condition of them and the treatment they needed. He spoke in layman's terms and with some humour. Sometimes there is a wait but we realise how busy you all are. Thank you to all the staff at Auckland Hospital, in particular the doctors and nursing staff in the A&E. You do an amazing job under pressure and in some difficult situations. What would we do without you? We really appreciate the job you do.
