Te Aro is the MΔori name for this district of Wellington. It's the entertainment district and goes from The Terrace to the Cambridge Terrace. It's mostly flat. This specific park used to be Pigeon Park until the name was changed to what it is today. The triangular park is bordered by Taranaki Street to the east and is between Manners Street and Dixon Street. It's a lively area of pedestrians and folks sitting about. A lot of pedestrians and a lot of folks sitting about. It's been laid out as a sculptural park by MΔori ceramicist Shona Rapira Davies. You'll need to pause at the edges to really appreciate the layout and designs. Worth it. In the after dark areas, I would be especially aware if passing through. In the daytime, maybe you'll get to see some birds enjoying the fountains (which are drained during winter).

A small open park space in the center of Wellington. I'm told it not always safe late at night but it was an ok spot in the late afternoon. No toilets any more which makes it a place to sit and talk and maybe eat takeaways.

Great place to chill.. Have a bite or meet up with friends.. Only thing a little off putting whilst eating are the Pigeons... Hence to the parks nickname pigeon park... Through many locals... Only other downfall is there are no public toilets...

Small park popular with lunching workers in the vicinity who don't mind sharing it with the ducks, gulls and pigeons (formerly known as "pigeon park" for a good reason, so you need to watch where you sit at this park) which are drawn to the mosaic pools of flowing water and the crumbs. It is located opposite the Opera House, close to the Manners Street (by Cuba Street) bus-stops ( 5513, 5515 ).
