Took my greenstone in to replace catch on silver chain. He put a magnetic catch on it, happy with that but stunned when told butterfly backs for my gold earrings would be $50! Took away the good will. I bought some for $5.00 instead.
Received fantastic service from the team at Augenstein's to adjust my new watch strap. They have been our go-to jeweller for years and have always been friendly & professional. Gerry adjusted the strap for me and got it perfect, five star service!
Disappointed , took my watch to get what I thought only needed a new battery, was told that it required a whole new mechanism something like $580 .and a few weeks to supply. After thinking about it for a few days thought I might try a nearby clock and watch repairer . They offered a pressure test along with a new battery . Went ahead with new battery forgoing pressure test and paid about $50 only for battery replacement . They made no mention of any other other problem. Have left this review for many months now to see that there was no ongoing issue, hasn't missed a beat . It pays to shop around and get a second opinion it seems
My family and I have been coming here for years and unfortunately am very disappointed with my last two experiences. Simple solder on a small silver ring still had a very obvious crack in it, which I identified immediately when I came to pick up and had to return the next week to recollect - charged me $70. Then I brought my Gran’s watch in for a battery replacement/clean. I had lost confidence from my previous visit so even messaged to confirm the clean had been done. When I arrived it had not and I was asked to return AGAIN the next week. No customer service offered and I asked for a discount which they reluctantly reduced from $25 to $20 for a simple battery change. Won’t be returning and do not feel our longstanding business has been appreciated.
Brought in a 2005 vintage Casio GW-1401D G-Shock Tough Solar watch to have the battery replaced and was very pleased with the result. Runs like new, and they even went out of their way to clean it, and I will say it looks as good as a well-worn 20-year-old watch is going to get - they did an excellent job cleaning it. Also, I'm not sure why people are complaining about the battery replacement costs being expensive - $95 is very reasonable considering the rechargeable battery in these Casio units often costs 30-40 odd dollars a pop, is not readily available, and of course, there's the excellent cleaning job they did on it. I'm very pleased with the result to say the least!
When I said I was unhappy with jewellery repair this was met by a very defensive angry response instead of trying to fix the issue. I had no choice but to pay the $150 and leave. And got a 2nd repair elsewhere this cost $90 and they fixed up all the mistakes thank goodness. I wouldn’t recommend Augustine Jewellery for any repair work .
Not happy. My husband bought me 2 Pandora charms for Christmas 2021. The ring that attaches the charm to the bracelet is wearing away. According to Pandora if there is wear and tear or its broken before 2 yrs is up then you can have it repaired or replaced BUT you need to prove it. Brought in my bank statement which they weren't interested in looking at and didn't want to know. They were cross with Pandora and wanted to leave them (not our business really) and wouldn't agree they sold us the charm in question and that it was still wearable. He said they only sell Pandora charms and not rose gold which is what it was. MY HUSBAND BOUGHT IT FROM THEM. Ended up leaving with the charm. NOT HAPPY. Found jeweler quite defensive and really didn't want to help. Won't buy anything from them again.
I have been to Augenstein's several times now. Top service at fair prices. They always go beyond what I pay for and I am always amazed by what result they deliver on my watches. Highly recommended.
Local jeweller that are supportive and knowledgeable they provide an incredible service that you won’t find anywhere else! It doesn’t matter if you are buying a ring or getting a clean/repair Augustine’s are always welcoming and patient HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Highly recommend this place for all your jewellery needs, brought a ring in to be fitted with 2 extra gem stones , unfortunately due to the age of the ring there was a crack in the original gemstone, and this fell out upon fitting the other 2, this was replaced with a gemstone of my request (which was different to original) free of charge. They did an amazing job of cleaning it up as well it looks absolutely beautiful and brand new I’m extremely happy!!! All the team are so very friendly and patient and were still very good to me and friendly even tho I kept bugging them about time frame of my ring, extremely professional, high quality work!!!! Highly highly recommend!!! They also have some unique and stunning jewellery on site with great prices. Cannot say enough good things about this business, the owner and the two lovely ladies. #proudtosupportlocalbusiness
