   After spending a substantial amount on a watch here we got it home to find it quite badly scuffed on the side. After phoning the store and asking if there was any other stock avalible in other stores I was told "All of the store models will be like that" and was offered one from head office (brand new). Glad we came to a conculsion but it feels awefully deceptive to be sold a knowingly damaged watch at full price, if they are aware of this should you not be offered a brand new one from head office from the get go? I guess just a heads up to thoroughly check items before purchase, do not assume they are 'brand new'. Service was also slow with adjustments, it felt like staff weren't very experienced with this - althouhg were apologetic.

   Appalling service. I purchased a $1,700 Tissot touch watch off them some years ago. It stopped working and they sent me to a repairer in Ponsonby. Tissot up graded it to the latest model at a cost of $400. The new one now needs a battery and Stewart Dawsons company policy is not to arrange this as they didn't sell it to me. They sent me to a repairer in Grey Lynn who told me they couldn't do it and it had to go to a repairer in Queen St. I purchased my original watch from them which failed. You think they could have arranged to have a battery fitted to its replacement.

   Took my watch into this place for a new battery, they said it would have to be sent away to get pressure tested as it is a dive watch, I get a phone call few days later saying Seiko don't make parts for my watch anymore, it's to old, it's broken, basically throw it out, so I took it to a watch maker in New Lynn he put a new battery in it and pressure tested it its perfectly fine, hmmm, not impressed with Stewart Dawson jewelers.

   Nice friendly staff. Wide range of good and products. However, found the quality of the goods to be a bit lacking and on par with the likes of pascoes. Also the amount you pay is quite high for what you actually get. Gold bands are 8 carat for mens bands. So again not pure quality gold goods. Lots of parking in the mall and centrally located in the norwest mall.
