Really great accomodation and location for walking around. Really close to good food options and Cuba Street. The room and bed was comfy and the wifi was reliable. Shower was nice and hot with good pressure. You can sometimes hear your neighbours and door closing in the hallway but only a minor point lost. Parking was secure but a bit tight and larger vehicles might struggle. Overall Iβd highly recommend this cute spot. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

This hotel was pretty decent for a weekβs stay. Itβs nice and clean. Good selection of items for the tea box - I especially appreciate the hot chocolate hehe. Also it is situated in a good location where youβre near eateries and stores. My biggest complaint is the wifi. It was slow and constantly kept disconnecting throughout the stay. Iβm unsure if itβs due to where the room was but either way the connection should be good wherever you are in the hotel. Considering it does it purpose but it has really bad wifi, I bumped my review from 4 stars to 3 stars.

Great location in downtown! Easy to walk everywhere. The rooms could do with a refresh - dirty carpet, worn mattress and barebones bathroom. But the service from staff was fantastic and our belongings always felt secure in the room. Mercure has a reciprocal deal with the Wilson Car Park behind the hotel, so when the hotel parking is full you can park in the Wilson lot and pay a discounted daily rate via the hotel reception. Very convenient!

Hotel has a small entrance foyer with stairs and a ramp for entry. The entry from the ramp should have an automatic door opening as handling luggage while trying to open the door was difficult. The door opens to the street. Once inside the staff were great. There is no valet service at this hotel Room was very clean and tidy. The bed was a bit small probably a queen size but comfortable.. Bathroom was huge and sparkling. Entertainment ie TV was limited to TV channels only ie no streaming service available. No casting from your phone for streaming.

Budget hotel and it was perfectly fine for a one night stay. The room was comfortable- basic with no frills, but I was pleasantly surprised given the price. Location was great and there was plenty of parking on the street outside. The only thing that might put me off staying again was the lack of air conditioning. There was a very good fan in the room and a heater but I found it quite uncomfortable with no air con.

the rooms are quite smaller than what they appear in the photos, and our window was a view of a carpark - in which we could hear noises (even with the window shut) all night long. major plus is the location as it is within walking distance to all major attractions within the city. 24/7 reception was great as i also lost my room card and returned to the hotel after midnight aswell.

Chosen for an easy walk to the Wellington railway station, the Abel Tasman ticked the box in terms of its central location, super comfortable bed, spotlessly clean room and helpful staff who were very welcoming and helpful on arrival. (The online check-in facility wasn't working.) Plenty of towels and quality toiletries in the bathroom. A very comfortable stay, thank you.

Last minute booking during Matariki Festival- checked into room 707 with 2 kids, room itself wasn't the greatest but wasn't too shabby either- found a few hairs in my sheets but wasn't sure if they were my own as I had only just hopped into bed, had a heatpump/a.c which was good- room didn't have a little sink to fill the jug so have to use bathroom sink so i passed on that. The streets were noisy and there's drunks walking around screaming laughing etc but that's what's expected staying in the city, a few doors down from my room were drunks playing loud music and having a party, they left around 11pm, but the slamming of doors further down the hall was definitely annoying. Breakfast was good in the Cafe downstairs. Lift access with key card which was safe. View was all good. Reception staff were great, letting us push checkout till 12. Central to everything. Payed 35 for parking as It was hard enough to find street parks in the zone.

Whomever is taking their professional photos of this room is amazing, because these photos are not reflective of the rooms at this hotel unfortunately. The hotel is well located to walk to everything. And there is a very small underground parking garage only if you have a small car. Very claustrophobic, but does the job. The hallways of this hotel have such low ceilings, it was very claustrophobic feeling to walk down them. The floors seemed uneven underneath the carpet also. I think the most concerning is the bathroom. The shower is tiny & the shower head isn't high enough for someone 5'10". But the exhaust for the shower was so full of dust that no steam was exhausting. The windows and drapes were gross (stains on the drapes). Overall, I would have expected more from a Mercure. I would not recommend this hotel to friends or family.
