   I walked into the store on a mission to find the right boots, Rosemary asked if I needed help which I declined at first. I spent 10 minutes pacing through the aisles without luck and she asked again and im so glad she did! She was SO helpful and friendly. I don’t normally write reviews but she was amazing! Offered me different styles of boots, gave great advice for sizing. I walked out with a great pair and a smile. Such an asset to the lower hutt store :)

   Had great service from staff Angus who was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. He also proactively checked the stock in your Johnsonville store when my shoe size was unavailable in the Lower Hutt store and asked them to hold it for me. Thank you Angus.

   Not happy at all. Went to buy some School Shoes for my son, had a look on thier website and seen a pair of Sketches on special for $94.99 from $189.99 Great price. But that's where it stopped. They actually were trying to sell me the Shoes that were on their website with the same model number at full price, trying to tell me that they were a different model. The pictures, model number and description were 100% exactly the same. Even one of thier own staff members agreed with me. Findlay told them what I thought of thier B/S and went to the Sketches shop in Queensgate. Told them about the hassle I had at N°1. Fixed me right away. Never going back to Number One, will not recommend anyone to shop there. Complaint heading to consumer rights and Number One head office.

   I recently visited this lower hutt number ones shoe store with my husband and our two 6 year-old girls. From the moment we entered, the retail assistant, Ivy, displayed unprofessional and unsettling behavior. She reprimanded our children, who were merely walking and looking around, insisting they shouldn't "run around," despite them being well-behaved. Throughout our visit, Ivy continuously stared at my husband and me as we tried on shoes, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. She was unhelpful, and at one point, rudely instructed us to return shoes to their boxes, even though we had only tried on four pairs. Upon deciding to purchase three pairs, during the billing process, she shouted at my husband, accusing him of misplacing a shoe box. Despite this, we proceeded with our purchase. However, the entire experience was marred by Ivy's rude and possibly discriminatory behavior. Upon reading other reviews, it appears this isn't an isolated incident, with multiple customers citing similar experiences. It's disheartening to see such behaviour in a retail environment, and I hope the management addresses this issue promptly.

   Staff members aren't really interested in selling anything or actually doing their job. Woman sales assistant, bleach blonde, older woman with heavy eye makeup under her eyes stated "you're righ' just looking", I said "no, I am after something comfy I can wear all day, something I can wear to work but not too dressy." ... She said "sorry, we haven't got anything like that"... No comfy tidy casual shoes???? Seriously Hannah's up ya game or your staff training.
