This was my first time dining at Loretta and dining at a restetaunt in general, as I get incredibly nervous eating out due to my allergies, but it was a fantastic experience!!! The staff were so lovely and accommodating towards my allergies β Ruby and Anna were incredible β tripple checking everything to make sure it's safe. Overall, amazing service from the kitchen for accommodating my allergies amongst all the other tables. The food was also fabulous, would highly recommend! Thank you for such a lovely experience

Revisiting Loretta on vibrant Cuba Street yesterday felt like greeting an old friend after too long away β I honestly couldn't pinpoint my last visit, but the warm welcome was immediate. This cafe holds a unique position on the street; rather than sprawling outwards, it feels like a pleasant discovery tucked away, its modest street-facing window belying the inviting space within. Stepping inside confirmed its reputation for a laid-back, friendly atmosphere. The service was spot-on β efficient, attentive, and genuinely helpful without being intrusive. While I'd often heard Loretta lauded for its wood-fired pizzas (a claim seemingly validated by the nearby tables), I found myself drawn to their brunch offerings. My choice was simple: scrambled eggs with a side of mushrooms. Yet, the execution was superb. The eggs were perfectly cooked, and the mushrooms were a standout β deeply flavourful and delicious. Taking a chance on a mocha paid off handsomely; far from the overly milky versions found elsewhere, it was robust, well-balanced, and thoroughly satisfying. While my personal preference always leans towards a window seat for people-watching, and these are indeed limited due to the cafe's inward design, it was a minor compromise. The overall experience was significantly better than average. Loretta delivers excellent food, great coffee, and a genuinely pleasant, casual vibe with top-notch service. It thoroughly deserves its recommendation and proved that even after years, it remains a Wellington favourite well worth rediscovering.

A busy restaurant, we headed here for brunch. The service was great but there was a line at the door for a while with no one seating customers when tables were available. Noticed a few people walk away. The brunch pizza was good however the omelette was average. Great coffee however.

Used βfirst tableβ to make a booking but table choice (small tables) wasnβt great and felt a bit crowded, later staff offered to move to a different table (a bit tucked away instead of the middle of the restaurant) which was really nice of them. Food was great, very filling (really enjoyed beef and vegan pizzas), sides didnβt come out until after and were large portions so had to take them home. Nice atmosphere

Good atmosphere for a Monday night, but I imagine it would be jumping by the end of the week. The food was fabulous and so flavoursome. The fig salad and the coconut cervice were a highlight. Staff were all lovely and very friendly. Excellent service.

Astonishing development! Loretta is the first restaurant weβve ever been to (and weβve asked the question of at least a hundred) which has said βyesβ to having a non-alcoholic wine on itβs listβ¦ It was a sparking wine, and my partner enjoyed her glass very much. Congratulations to Loretta on their first and I hope they add a zero white and rose to their list (McGuigans are not bad). And if they can find a drinkable red that would be an achievement. Our plate-sized pizzas were just right and the surprising combination of wood-fired peach, pancetta, stracciatella, balsamic, and basil was delicious. Dark chocolate mousse was wonderful. Speaking of wonderful. we were treated really well by the team and in particular Zoe and Lena who gave us a great table in the window. Even on a rainy Sunday evening it was fun watching the world go by.

Greeted with a smile on arrival, and promptly shown to a table. Friendly staff, with prompt water replacement when bottle nearly finished! Waffles were excellent and almost too big! My wife had the omelet which she liked. I love it when I get great service and great food in the same venue! Highly recommend!

Ordered several small plates for sharing. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. So much finesse in the dishes! The fennel and radish salad was refreshing and complemented the lamb (lamb was fork tender btw). One of the best restaurants we have tried in NZ!
