I visited the Noel Leeming Wairau Park store twice — yesterday afternoon and again this morning — and I’d like to share my experience. This is not a complaint, just some honest feedback and suggestions from a customer’s point of view. First of all, I really want to thank Ashutosh for his help. He provided very good service and was patient and professional during both visits. However, there was one part of my experience that I wasn’t entirely satisfied with. I was planning to buy a Lenovo gaming laptop, and before visiting the store, I had checked prices on the Lenovo New Zealand website. I found two listings — one from the “Build Your PC” option (slightly cheaper) and another from a pre-built model (a bit higher), both with the same configuration as the one sold at Noel Leeming (as confirmed by Ash). When I asked for a price match, it was declined. The reason given was that the Lenovo NZ website might not have stock, could have a long waiting period, may have extra shipping cost, or that their price was below Noel Leeming’s cost. I understand that every retailer has its pricing structure, but if the “Price Match” promise is advertised, it would be great if it could be applied consistently, without extra conditions that customers can’t easily verify or prepare for in advance. Lastly, I noticed there was a special promotion that ended yesterday. Unfortunately, I missed it because it wasn’t clearly shown in-store yesterday, and no one mentioned when it would end. As customers, sometimes our purchase decisions are spontaneous, and we may not know when a sale starts or finishes unless it’s clearly communicated. Maybe I’m asking for too much, but I just wanted to share my genuine experience — I hope this feedback helps both customers and the store improve in the future.
My partner and I visited this branch of Noel Leeming to purchase a vacuum cleaner. While the prospect of the purchase was somewhat exciting (until then I had nought but a brush and dustpan to clean our floors), I had assumed this would be a rather uneventful transaction. While we perused the vacuums we were approached by a manager by the name of William and, for the next twenty minutes or so, he answered every question we had, offered genuine well informed advice, and demonstrated a near encyclopaedic knowledge of the products, along with a care for his customers’ needs. I tend to avoid these sorts of interactions with the staff in retail stores (having worked retail myself I know that nine times out of ten any information they have to offer you will be the result of conjecture and hasty googling). In this case, we found ourselves delighted with the degree of assistance we received at Noel Leeming. William was so helpful that if after the transaction was complete, he had shot me in the leg with a crossbow, I’d still rate this to be a fantastic retail experience. He even called me after I had left the store to inform me of the correct bags to use with the new vacuum. ‘Above and beyond’ does not begin to describe the service. Bravo. Vacuum still going strong - but I’m almost inclined to destroy it, just so I’d have cause to return to Noel Leeming and buy another one. Thank you.
Recently purchased a SD card for my Dash Cam. Works like butter. Will come back to buy other stuffs as well in future. I loved the fact that you can check online if the item you are looking for is in stock or not .
Disappointed service!!! My new home got damaged when the electrician guy delivered my oven to upstairs. Multiple damage on the stairs and the wall. Nobody can responsible for this and not even an apology. In addition, the sale service attitude is very poor and evades responsibility. sale keeps saying can't understand. If you can't speak English then you should leave your job. I have sent the problem to noel leeming head office. I will not buy anything from noel leeming after that. The electrician at noel leeming is also very unprofessional and can't do anything
Very disappointed that I chose to purchase all my appliances here! I ordered $2700 worth - a fridge, washer, and dryer - over THREE WEEKS ago, and there is no sign of them being delivered anytime soon. I've been without a fridge this entire time, leaving my cold items outside in the backyard like a caveman. When I called to check on the delivery date, the woman blamed it on "the supplier" and said it could take weeks before the appliances arrive. Then she hung up on me before I could ask any further questions. Horrible way to treat paying customers. Should have gone across the street to Harvey Norman.
This branch really needs to do some customer service staff training in the shop and click and collect the area around the back. I prefer traveling to Albany when I have the time. I have mentioned this to the customer service team in passing, and they are aware there is an issue. I just wish they would do something about it.
Go see Poppy on Saturdays! Excellent service, friendly, reactive with knowledge, genuinely interested and helpful as we did our mock-up kitchen, pushing fridges around and making cardboard walls hahaaa! You must take advantage of the Price Match Promise, we got a huge discount, and used the saving to buy a TV. Looking forward to our next purchases with Poppy, thank you. A+++
The manager here (short dude with the glasses and fresh cut) is a gift from above. One time I came in with my mom to buy an Alexa. She wanted a $20-$25 version but it looked as though they were sold out, staff said they were too, so she grabbed the $50 despite being disappointed. This dude comes through in a clutch last minute, telling us that new stock had JUST arrived. She got the Alexa, which was so sweet as she needed it at the time for emergency use. She was in crutches and if she fall, she could use it for help. Another time I bought a new phone, though I forgot to use my mom’s fly-buys card. She told me to give it a shot and ask if the points could be added even a day after the purchase. Same dude, again, comes in with the clutch and tosses the points. I wish I remember this guys name, absolute legend. Give him a raise!!!!
So my TV died. Looking online Noel Leeming in Wairau Park had the best deal going. A lovely man, Guru, sorted it all out for me and loaded it into my car as well. It was on the way home that I realized that it was likely Guru who sold me $7000 plasma TV years ago. Anyway, good service and value for money never goes out of style. 100% for an excellent experience!
