“Value for money, we bought 2 boxes and shared them with 6 ladies. The food was good just need to add more salt and spicy.”
“This place is fantastic value and I find it tastes better than some other recommended takeaways for the price. $7.00 for a good sized lunch box with 3 choices is great. Been going here for 5+ years and is generally pretty good.”
“Absolutely authentic northern Chinese food. Honestly there’s no better place in Auckland with Harbin food. It’s always busy, better to book first. Sometimes not easy as not everyone speaks English there , but 100% worth it . My favourite Chinese restaurant for sure”
“Tastes good and typically northeastern cuisine. Big dishes and good value.”
“Cumin Lamb is my favourite. Good price, easy ordering online and always quick! Always delicious and hits the spot yummy chewy noodles”
“Yummy food. Dumplings and rice fresh tasting. Atmosphere was a little dirty but food made up for it. Staff are lovely and understanding.”
“Highly recommend this place for their amazing service and good quality food. Me and my mother came here for lunch. The service was very good and quick, with the prices being extremely affordable for us. Good portions and my 2 year old daughter was free. They had high chairs so even better for those with babies/toddlers.”
“The spicy and sour potatoes are so flavourful. Halal sign outside. Pretty authentic fried rice. Very fast service.”
“this restaurant has legit Shanghainese home dishes. I've been there twice to taste hometown flavor. The air dried pork belly in the yanduxian soup was excellent, I lingered around the aftertaste after going back home. drinken fish fillet was very competitive to some restaurants in Shanghai. Standing out aroma of rice wine and tender fish fillets got a big attention. And drunken chicken was legit too. The braised pork belly I had last time was out of gate, this is actually a usual dish in most Chinese restaurant. However this place got the unique flavor of east China. Almost every Shanghainese signature dish I tried here can be scored 9-10 out of 10. Staff here were nice but usually crazy busy, so help yourself if you can.”
At Number One Spring Caking Roll 一手卷餅, the menu stays pan‑Asian comfort and no‑fuss. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. Stir‑fries keep good heat and snap. Orders move at a steady pace.
“Love this place. The owners are so nice and the food is so yummy. They always answer the phone and then the food is ready in 10 minutes. Even my cat loves the orange beef. She eats it all in 30 seconds flat. Crazy impressive!”
“Well worth the trip and the wait (if there is one on a busy day). There’s a reason they’re often busy - quite easily the best fish and chips in the whole Wellington area. As someone from the UK it’s genuinely the only place I can go and have fish and chips anything like they are back home. Absolutely fantastic. Young staff very competent and friendly too. Prices outstandingly reasonable as well. Will be going back for many years hopefully.”
“Bikaner has made an impressive leap forward since my last visit. The food quality, presentation, and service have all noticeably improved. The expanded menu offers a great mix of authentic flavours and innovative new dishes. The atmosphere feels more welcoming and refined, making it a truly enjoyable dining experience. Their revamped website also deserves a mention — clean design, smooth navigation, and an excellent user interface. It’s clear Bikaner has stepped up its game and set a higher standard for Indian dining in the area.”
“Authentic Chinese dumplings at affordable prices. Staff are super friendly and caring. Kindly help us placing our order because they have too many different kinds of combination of things you can order. Dumpling are yummy and juicy. Table service is super quick too.”
“After having local food for 10 days. We are craving for Chinese food. We manage to try this restaurant visited by many Chinese living in Christchurch. It is Hongkong style food. Pickled duck wings. Steam blue cod fish. Ginger and spring onion Venison hot plate. Crispy skin Peking duck. Steamed oyster with vermicelli. All cooked to perfection and taste like food eaten in Hongkong. . Food : 5/5 Service : 4/5 Price : $$$ Place : 3/5”
“The chicken is so good that you'll taste the chicken and say "this chicken is so good"”
“Just finished eating here. Everything's was cooked beautifully. The gravy was delicious! And had my first deep fried snickers which was amazing. Thanks team”

“Ok, it’s just a Chinese takeaway chip shop but it does what it does very well. I’ve enjoyed their fish and chips twice this week and that’s says something. Not disappointed the second time either! The snapper was fresh and the chips were lovely, fluffy and crispy on the outside, without any oil or grease residue. Non oily fish and chips is not often found so well done to these guys. It would be great if you offered additional items like pickled onions, bread and butter to make a chip sandwich, mushy peas, malt vinegar. Then you would truly be a star. Just walk across the road to the Motiti Reserve find a table and watch the ocean. The perfect way to enjoy fresh fish & chips.”
