“Well I’ve been frequenting this lovely little shop and feel fortunate to be able to get such things in walking distance. The lady is always friendly and helpful. I had the best roti here after trying several other places. It has all the spices and rice to make a homemade biryani. Fresh chillies and murku. I did cheat tonight and also bought some off the shelf dal makhani, perfect with the roti. All round lovely shop to have in the neighborhood.”

“The Family Store is wonderful on its own, but what truly makes it special is Tatiana. She’s the heart and soul of the shop. I’ve never met someone so warm, caring, and genuinely helpful. She always checks in with people, asks how they’re doing, and goes out of her way to help them find exactly what they need. Her kindness creates such a welcoming atmosphere, you can feel it the moment you walk in. My daughter absolutely loves Tatiana. Ever since our very first visit, she’s been excited to go back every week, not just for the treasures in the shop, but to see Tatiana. She has a beautiful way of connecting with people, especially children, that makes them feel safe and valued. I’ve also noticed that many customers come in simply because they enjoy talking with her. She makes everyone feel seen and appreciated, and it’s obvious how much the community loves her. I honestly believe that a lot of people donate to the store not just to support the shop, but as a quiet thank-you to Tatiana for her kindness and genuine care.”

“10.30pm Wednesday night, I click the chatbot on the website to ask about fish sauce. I was expecting a generic robotic reply but to my surprise, someone from Foody started responding. After 15 mins of chat i'd filled my cart with fish sauce, rice noodles, special beef broth, seaweed noodles, vinegar, chilli sauce and was directed to their blog for an authentic spring roll recipe. My fave though was instructions on how to cook my rice noodles so they're not gluggy (cook on low heat, test with fingers so they're the right texture, immediately remove and rinse thoroughly with cold water). I've just received notification that the delivery is on its way. Thank you to whoever I was chatting to, it was such outstanding service that you've got a very happy new customer!”
