“In 1996 I had surgery to my lumba/sacral spine. At the time, my mobility was severely affected through an accident injury. The change that took place as a result of the surgery was amazing. I no longer needed the support of a trolley to shop in a supermarket. I got back to tramping and climbing the Auckland volcanoes and swimming 2 K at the pool 3x a week. I have now reached my 80s and have some spinal troubles, but I can look back on those years when I regained my mobility with immense gratitude for the kindness and skill of Mr Barnes. My 2-year-old son made significant improvements on his overall health after the surgery. Definitely it was not scary as it sounds like, It is super helpful for the child. Dr. Colin's assistant Olwyn is amazing, she is always great with communication, very kind, warm and approachable. Even I did lots of research on the treatment, but still had real difficulty in making the decision. But Olwyn is always there listen, answer my questions, reassure me. It really helps!!! After 4 years of bashing my head against a brick wall with the Kari centre and government funded care, bounced around from being "labeled" a "problem child", "wrong parenting style", counselling and cessions with psychologists & paediatricians. Incidents raising red flags towards my child's illness identified but not accepted and still without any diagnosis or treatment, we ended up at the door of Dr Smith. I am very grateful to get a diagnosis and treatment for my child and the results have been astounding. Well worth every penny. My only regret is that we didn't find Dr Warwick Smith sooner.”
