“Gribblehirst Park Playground is a fun and family-friendly spot for kids of all ages. It features swings, slides, climbing structures, and a flying fox, offering plenty of opportunities for active play. With its safe, well-maintained equipment and shaded spots for parents to relax, it’s a fantastic place for a family outing.”

“This is a decent sized reserve area in Northcote, accessible via Queen Street. The children playground has been recently upgraded and has a lot of swings and areas to keep them busy for a couple hours. On street parking is available here. Decent and well maintained toilets is available here. There is always less crowd here, since the location is not that popular except for locals. Half sized basket ball court is also available here. Well recommended overall.”

“Great little reserve to take the kids to. It has a cute little playground, some nice flat fields, a little scooter track and a half basketball court. Plenty of unpaid off street parking is available. Good place to come for a picnic and bring the dog!”

“Centennial Park Bush Walk is in Campbells Bay of Auckland's North Shore, right next to the famous Pupuke golf club. There are a couple of tracks in this bush which are all loops - Walking Bus, Aberdeen, Mamaku, Kohekohe, Bayliss, Avenue, Tui, and Magnolia. Combined, they are 4km track length altogether, and it may take an hour or so to complete them all. It would be handy to have a park map with you so that you will not be on the same track over and over in circles! Good shoes for this walk are essential, as some sections, particularly the Avenue of Remembrance, can be muddy and slippery after wet days. Depending on which direction you walk, there are uphills and downhills so be prepared. Dogs are allowed but must always be on a leash. There's a great lookout point with seating and views out to Campbells Bay and the Hauraki Gulf. Also, there are a couple of picnic benches in this park for you to have a relaxed meal or a drink.”

“Great park!!! So much to do. There were heaps of slides, ropes to climb on, a hamster wheel, spinny things, a wheel chair swing, super clean bathrooms, grills, and so much more! Definitely recommend!”

“I cannot express how grateful I am for Kindercare Learning Centre - Mount Well. From the moment we inquired about enrollment, the team has been incredibly helpful and responsive. Monisha, the centre manager provided all the necessary information promptly and the level of organization is truly impressive. My daughter absolutely loves going to school. She has formed wonderful connections and it's clear that she enjoys her time there. The teachers are all so accommodating and you can tell they genuinely care about the children's well-being and development. The centre itself is spotless and well-organized, which makes me feel at ease knowing my child is in such a safe and nurturing environment. I also love that the centre provides feedback about what happened during the day when I pick my daughter up, it's great to stay connected with her progress. Thank you Kindercare for being such an amazing part of our journey. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful place for my daughter to grow and learn.”

“Great place with a variety of activities you can enjoy. Playground, skate park and basketball courts provide plenty of fun for kids. Easy walking track (there are stairs on the track) Soccer fields are well looked after and great for exercising and plenty more”

“A really nice, multi-use gymnasium - two large arenas with a viewing platform between. Houses gymnastics and trampoline National and international competitions and training.”

“My child has been going here since March 2025 and all in all I have to say the centre is great. We have no real objections. Every now and then we do ask questions but my child is happy and relaxed when we pick him up so that gives us a level of comfort we are happy with. The teachers are very polite and seem to know what they are doing.”

“This the west end of the foreshore heritage walk, a 5km pleasant trail. I started from the middle of the trail, point 13 to the east, then back to the west. It took me 3-4 hours in total. It’s an amazing way to learn Auckland”

“A magnitic for visitors from near and far. This is the most famous and popular beach in Auckland. Always packed. You can try the eateries along Tamaki Drive. There is two toilets. There is also a playground. There is a police station at the intersection. Always lock your car and don't show any valuables.”

“Roberta Reserve is a hidden gem tucked away in Glendowie. It’s peaceful, open, and has such a calm vibe—perfect for families, dog walks, or just taking a moment to breathe. The reserve runs alongside the water with beautiful views, especially at sunrise or sunset. There’s a great little playground for kids, plenty of space to kick a ball around, and shady spots to relax under. It’s never too crowded, and the mix of native trees, birdlife, and open space makes it feel like a proper local retreat. Definitely one of those underrated neighbourhood spots you feel lucky to know about.”

“I completed my field placement in the babies room at Happy Turtle Childcare, and it was a truly rewarding experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and supportive, and I learned so much from their nurturing and professional approach. I had the chance to support daily routines, engage in play-based learning, and build meaningful connections with the infants. The environment was calm, safe, and thoughtfully set up for early development. Like falling down a rabbit hole and ending up in Wonderland/Wonka's Chocolate factory... the staff are warm and friendly, the care is second to none and our child has improved in all development areas in the 5 months he has been here. To support all children in their individual learning journey, where they're at, and become a part of every whanau - AE Pap I truly am grateful we found you and that we have you in our corner in G's last year before Primary School. “Love this park! Lotsa trails that meander and undulates with streams, bridges and staircases that break up the monotony to select from depending on your capability and endurance, kids playgrounds are lovely and fun! Yes, even for adults. Haha. Lovely cafe and public swimming pool. Definitely a must go. Just remember to clean up as you go and leave no trace of whatever you ate or drank.”
